Probably nano technology which will eventually let us grow our own bodily organs and limbs so that doctors can transplant or reattach them. That way we will be able to live as long as we choose to,with relative good health. We'll also be able to store and download our knowledge and memory banks for our children and grandchildren or ourself if alzheimers or some other kind of dimentia strikes us.

We will discover that there are an infinite number of parallel universes identical to this, all starting at different times, by travelling to another is similar to time travel. So we shall pass information from one universe to another until eventually we have achieved everything possible. We shall be able to change our world and reverse it back to how it was repeatedly so we can live forever partially erasing our memories so we dont get bored, Cars will no longer exist it will all be matter transporters that will also store clothes so they are "transported" on to our bodies. Thats not science fiction, its fact as you will find out within the next few months.

The ultimate invention would have to be a homogenized world government, in which all peoples of every nation are equal (in every sense of the word). This means there are no "haves" and "have nots" ... there is no poverty, illness, war, famine, racism, etc.

Everyone can pool their resources to making the world a better place - and to perhaps searching out other worlds (and other world nations?). This ~should~ accelerate the development of useful technologies like nanotech and genetic research ... it would be in the best interest of all.

Without it, we are far more likely to fail than to succeed.

To invent is an act of creativity. Once you create the idea, the invention is done, can't be reinvented. Its impossible to predict future. Thow, if i understood the sence of your question, i think the most importat inventions will be related with genetics.

You did not get any answers before, because your question makes no sense. You are asking what is the greatest invention, but then tell us to disregard any ACTUAL inventions. That leaves the empty set.

I take it to mean the ultimate being the most beneficial.
If you could invent a zapper that would cause people to accept their own religion and ignore the religions of every one else!

how about the ability to replicate things like they can do in Star Trek? endless food for all.. money would become obsolete because people could just replicate anything they want.. everyone would be free to focus on bettering themselves rather than scrambling for enough money to pay off their debts..
