Hell is neither here nor there. Hell is inside our own body and mind.
Due to our desires that cannot be fulfilled and due to longings and
greed that cannot be satisfied, we generate the fires of greedy desire and resentful anger, which burn our own body and mind.
~ Buddha

God demands desire.
What you are you are becoming and what you are now is what you will be then. Or, the character you have here is the character you take there; and is the only thing that will pass over.

It is good to realize that hell is as much a condition as a place, Still there remains a place to meet the conditions.

There is not much difference between the concept of desire, expressed here, and the Christian idea of sin. The idea that suffering comes from desire results in the quote on hell.

Rather than drop desire; the way out, as presented by the Lord, is to turn ones desire to God. This is dealt with at the cross daily.

A little study of the 'great truths' could benefit a large number of Christians. Many are taught by example to ignore desire; yet seem to be forever dealing with man's central addiction.

Hell in the bible is a place the person Job wanted to go to. He wanted to escape Gods anger. Job mentioned God would remember him. Hell is not a place of suffering. Job would did not mean going from his fleshly suffering to a place of fire and suffer there too!!! No, Hell is the grave. Which is why the bible says hell is thrown into the lake of fire. Symbolically meaning no more death. Buddhism like most religions believe when a person dies there is a underworld of torment. Not a bible teaching.

You are right, hell is inside our body and mind, however the material planets (Earth included) are hellish places where suffering in the form of birth, disease, old age and death take place. There is an spiritual realm (called Vaikunta) where these miseries do not take place.

The content of this is great I totally agree with it but my interpretation is that hell can be here and now, internal and external. Try and keep the flames under control though because they can without notice get out of control.

I'm in agreement. I'm of the opinion (for many years now) that Heaven and Hell are both here on Earth. Depending on the point of view, one is living in either/or.

May you have a Heavenly day. Peace.

I disagree... as spiritual and deep as that sounds... it has no practicality to it. If hell doesnt exist and the only thing that is real is inside us than what's the point of anything? It makes no sense... is buddha god? than whats he trying to say? what right does he have to draw the lines? he's just one of us... just more peaceful.

After you die, your soul goes to God to be judged and He decides where or or not you belong in the place called hell. We all have to be punished for the sins we have created on earth. Yes! we can create our own hell on earth, but we still have to atone for our sins to God! One cannot escape the wrath of God!

this makes a lot more sense than a literal hell ... but how could i argue with such a wise person anyway
yes i agree that hell is in our mind ... we can live in it or not depending on our needs
we make our life what it is ... and that can be great or terrible

I think he was right and it is our choice whether we live in hell or not. It is not surprising that the christians 'know' it is wrong though.
