In a recent episode of Top Model, the judges were critiquing the models best pictures. Tyra Banks expressed her dissappointment in the look of one of the model's arms, stating that she was showing too much muscle tone. As I looked at this picture, I saw a normal, healthy amount of muscle tone. Her arms were lean but she looked athletic. In the modeling industry, it seems at least generally, the more bone-thin and stick-straight the models look, the better.
Do you think that it's time for the industry [modeling and other media] to popularize a more healthy look and weight in models? What would you consider to be a beautiful, yet healthy body? How might these changes effect the health of girls who aspire to look like them?
I have a lot of thoughts on this subject but I'd like to hear others'.
Thanks
