I got a locker for Christmas (I'm 11) and it won't open! It didn't come with instructions and even my parents tried to open it, but it doesn't work! I've tried everything, including busting it open!!!! There is a silver plate on tope that says 15286, and I'm sure that's the combo, but when we try it it doesn't work! Is it a phoney locker or what should I do!?

I was watching a show once where one man said that he slimmed his waist by a few inches just by wearing some sort of a very tight band/fabric over his waist for a few months, and after he took it off his waist was visibly slimmer. Has anyone heard of this or tried this? How does this work? Serious responses only. Thank you.

I went to my local vet of 4+ years unexpectedly when my dog was attacked by another dog. She sustained an injury to the neck area. The vet looked at the wound, cleaned and bandaged it. No staples, stitches, pain medication, etc were given. However, when I approached the front desk, the invoice was almost $400! This occurred during regular business hours and I was an established client. I advised that I would pay $150 in cash immediately and my husband would come by with the rest on his lunch hour. They held my dog and refused to explain their charges! It is time to see if I am overreacting or if this is crazy!!

Do you have to watch "Fire" and "Earth" (by Deepa Mehta) before you watch "Water?

Also, is it necessary to watch "Koi Mil Gaya" before Krrish?

I didn't know if it was necessary to know the story lines of these films in order to understand them.

I have a theory that we are biologically wired to distrust outsiders and people who look different. When we were hunter gather societies different groups of people probably fought over limited resources, good hunting territory, good water sources, etc, etc. Could it be that we are genetically pre-disposed for racisim?

We recently adopted a ten-month-old cat from the SPCA last Thursday, and we were planning to get two -- it was all going great. The cat would let us cuddle with him, sit on our lap, etc. When we got the second one yesterday from the same place (SPCA), the loving stopped. They get along relatively fine -- they tolerate each other, but I can't help but feel sad because everytime I try to cuddle up with the former original cat (they're 6 months apart) he doesn't act the same...he doesn't let me hold and hug him for long periods of time, hold his paws, cuddle, etc. Will he ever "go back to normal"?

I knew of a beautiful young girl who was sick with cancer. She was home with her parents, bedridden at Christmas time. She believed in Santa with all her heart, and she even wrote a letter to him. Unfortunately, her parents could not afford anything because the medical insurance did not cover all of her medication. Her mother cried by her bedside, trying to explain that she could not afford to buy her a gift, but she would manage to make her something special. The girl told her, "That's OK mommy, Santa will bring me something. I wrote him a letter, and he knows just what I want!" Christmas morning came, and Santa never showed. The girl's heart was broken, and she cried to her mother, "Why didn't Santa come? Did I do something bad? I must have done something to make him pass my house". The mother didn't know what to say. She just wept, " I don't know sweetie, maybe he couldn't find our house."

Does Santa only visit the fortunate? He doesn't seem to come to the ghetto, either.

I know this might be shocking considering todays Islamo-facist conflict, but if you look at history man tends to fight wars for reasons other than religion (in fact the precieved religious wars normally have a very political/power struggle undertone.)

Which religion was WWI or WWII over?

People fight for a variety of reasons, and will continue to fight for a variety of reasons.
