I knew of a beautiful young girl who was sick with cancer. She was home with her parents, bedridden at Christmas time. She believed in Santa with all her heart, and she even wrote a letter to him. Unfortunately, her parents could not afford anything because the medical insurance did not cover all of her medication. Her mother cried by her bedside, trying to explain that she could not afford to buy her a gift, but she would manage to make her something special. The girl told her, "That's OK mommy, Santa will bring me something. I wrote him a letter, and he knows just what I want!" Christmas morning came, and Santa never showed. The girl's heart was broken, and she cried to her mother, "Why didn't Santa come? Did I do something bad? I must have done something to make him pass my house". The mother didn't know what to say. She just wept, " I don't know sweetie, maybe he couldn't find our house."

Does Santa only visit the fortunate? He doesn't seem to come to the ghetto, either.

He doesn't have enough elves to make toys for the ill and poor.

Well I have heard of several hospitals where the volunteers come by and give out presents, some even have Santa visit himself. Every year myself and most of my friends and neighbours buy toys and gift certificates for families in need. They should have contacted welfare or the salvation army and they would have gotten something. As well local churches. Secondly, in this case the parents should definitely explain the real story about Santa rather than have the girl think she was bad or forgotten. So to answer your question, no he doesn't just go to the rich and fortunate. I know because I have donated my time and finances to help those in need.

Well, considering that Santa isn't real, I'd say he only visits those houses who have money to go out and shop. Perhaps in a case like that little girl it would have been prudent to tell her the truth instead of letting her think that she was bad and santa passed her up.

Well santa is story and I am sorry to say that not everybody can buy people presents. But the story of santa is about giving not just receiving. People have forgot what christmas is really about. I am sorry of this story, but there are millions of kids who will not eat tonight or tmr. Alteast this little girl has someone who loves her and that is a wonderful gift.

Santa stands for what Christmas is all about: being with your family..being with those you love. As long as she was with her mom and dad that day, Santa did come. She just didn't realize it. It's a sad story, really, but Santa is the essence of Christmas, not the bringer of toys wrapped in shiny paper.

no 1, i dont believe in santa and i will never will.
no 2, if santa is a good person then he should know what is right by visiting the unfortunate instead of the fortunate.
no 3, what do i care anyway

That's right. Maybe it would be better to tell kids that Santa does not exist.

My friend, it is for this very reason why I believe parents should be honest with their children from the start. What a sad story!!
