Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

I would take her to the doctor because from personal experience, those OTC yeast meds dont work very well, and since yeast infections can spread into the reproductive tract and cause damage if left untreated I would see a doctor

Take her to the doctor... first of all, you can't diagnose a yeast infection (unless you are a doctor), and second, over-the-counter meds are not made for young children. She will require a medication designed for her age. Take her to the pediatrician to find out what it is.

I would definitely take her to the doctor. It is ok to self diagnose when you have had a yeast infection before but with a small child I would not take any chances.

when my daughter was a baby she was getting alot of yeast infections,we found that she was allergic to the diapers that we were using.anyway a friend of mine's son was born with his intestines, reversed and on the outside of his stomache,he had surgery.they had to feed him through a tube that went through his belly button and he would get yeast infections around where the tube was inserted.the doctors prescribed him "natures own" vitamin E that they put around it.this also worked on my daughter"s yeast infections it got rid of it fast. you can get this over the counter at almost any pharmacy.it is a thick syrup and is a yellowish-orange in color. try this first. i hope this helps.

I don't know if adult medications would be good for a 4 year old. Best bet is to go to the doctor and get his opinion.

My pediatrician told us to use lotramin (sp?), on the area (just the outside, of course) two or three times a day. It's worked for us every time so far. If it continues to get worse, I would see a doctor, though. Good luck.
