My dad was extreamly abusive my entire life. Beat my mother constantly. tortured my sister and I. He drank and beat and raped all of us. He went so far as to hold us at gun point near the end. A few years back he wrecked an ATV and is brain damaged now. I hate him so much I feel he deserves this pain and torture. I hate him enough to laugh at his funeral with no emotion at all. He was a monster to us. How do I get over this and move on? How do I exclude him from my thoughts? How do I not feel guilty for abandoning him and never speaking to him when he now has the mental capacity of a 12 year old child? He has no memory of how he was. He crys and calls me constantly begging for me to come see him. Like a kid, but all I see is the hate I've allways known hiding behind those eyes. PLEASE HELP ME!

My office settings bars me from Internet access during day time.I have heard that i can change Internet settings so that I can bypass it.There is some change to made and a proxy server name is to be added in tools->internet Options->LAN settings->Using Proxy server. Can any one help me getting any such servers through which I can bypass it??Thanks in adv..

What do you think we should do? We brought over loads of cigarettes from the Caribbean, we have been living there for a year. We paid all the tax required on the cigs but this still meant that they are so much cheaper than in the UK.

When we got home everyone turned their noses up because they are not the cheapo brand everyone is smoking over here. So we offered them to Mother in law and her friends and would you believe they had given up the gaspers.

Now what do you all suggest should I just stand on the corner of the street and offer them for free. Go to a pub and try and sell them and people will look at me as if I am the old bill about to arrest them. What am I to do?

Suggestions please in a brown envelope.

my son is overwhelmed with his life. He works a nite job and tries to go to school (college) during the day. It has not turned out so good he is failing his classes. He was special ed in HS before going to the community college, I do not believe he has asked for any special consideration at the college though I believe he should, he is a very proud young man. Also he is still a ward of the state and lives on his own, he must work to pay 100 dollars of his rent each month buy his groceries etc, he is without glasses cause he broke his and the state could care less if he sees or not apparently as they are dragging their feet in helping him get the glasses. I cannot help him financially and he is fiercely independent, my heart is breaking, he has given up and is talking about joining the U.S. Air Force. THis kid has a measured IQ of 135 but for some reason has always struggled and mostly failed in doing schoolwork he will not ask for help. Is the Air Force a good idea.? be kind pls.

There are hundreds of questions in this database about To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm currently working towards a professional certification with an educational organization. As part of a project I'm working on, I'd appreciate getting others' perspectives on this issue. I'm concerned about the state of our education system when so many kids seem incapable of understanding such a straight-foward, important piece of literature. What is it about this book? me and my boyfriend is about 7 months now.. and I felt that his family doesnt like me.. me and his sister had a fight and argued before because she wants me to break up with his brother and offcourse i didnt like that to happen because I really love my boyfriend so much.. his parents talked to me before and asked me if I could just leave their son so he could concentrate more on his studies.. i admit, that hurted me so badly.. though,i know how my boyfriend loves me and cares for me.. i'm still confused.. If you're in my situation,would you just respect his family's decision or won't you just ignore them and hold on to your promise with your boyfriend that no one can break you apart from each other?..

We've studied lots of times, and learned about many facts.
There've been the Dino's time, the mummy's one, the vampire's one... The Christians tried to impose their religion through the Cruzades; the NY Stockmarket's crashed; the world faced some ditactorships; there've been two world wars( we might be running into a third, I hope we're not); many sorts of government appeared, like the communists and anarchists; today we live much more than did our ancestors, and we can talk to a robot! What's coming in the future? Nobody knows! We can only suppose... there will be a cure for cancer? People will live in space??

Now, it's up to you... which time would you choose to live?
