Curiousity begs me to ask (although I'm sure I'll get some offensive replies), WHY is Islam blamed for the acts of terrorism commited in its name? Do people blame catholicism for terrorist acts carried out by the IRA? Or is Chrisitianity blamed for racist attacks by white supremacist or the KKK?
Doesn't it make more sense to blame a person rather than blaming an entire religion? Especially when you look at Muslim communities around the world.....they have the lowest crime rates, the lowest rates of alcoholics, the lowest number of rapes, the lowest number of drug users......Muslim communities (based on statistical evidence) are extremely law-abiding & peaceful. Tell me again why the whole religion is blamed?

Last night I went to the cinema with a group of friends. My skin started feeling itchy, and I kept scratching throughout the movie. The itching lasted all night. Any ideas what this could be?

respect it? He's said that we've gone through too much everyday since we've been married (we've only been married for a year) but should I respect that and give him his time? and if so should I continue to do the things that made him fall in love with me to begin with? Let me just say nothing was to the degree where infidelity was involved but more of insecurities, jealousy, and financial issues. What do I do in the meantime of waiting on his decision?

I recently went to see the film Borat and have mixed feelings about it. While it was funny (if a little rude!) I couldn't help but find the racism etc. in it a little unnecessary. I know thats the whole point of the film but to me it seems a bit strange! Anyone seen it and care to comment?

Why is it that Fundamentalist/Evangalical Christians seem to vote Republican? (Not all do this but most do). I was watching a clip on television, Rev. Falwell was giving a speech and he said that "We determine who is going to be in the White House and who will sit on the Supreme Court." It is a scary thought to think that most Americans vote along a cultural continium.

Probability factors:

If you are white, Christian, middle/ upper middle class and southern, most likely you will vote Republican.
If you are African American Christian poor, middle, and even upper class you are more than likely going to vote democratic.
I know that this is not true of everyone, but I am largely speaking in generalities.
Why is race, class and religious affliation an in effective indicator of how we will vote?
