In my opinion, when "Everybody Loves Raymond" went off the air in 2005, the traditional sitcom died. These days, it's trendy one-camera comedies like "Arrested Development" and "My Name is Earl" that dominate the comedic airwaves, and all the new situation comedies like "Two and a Half Men" and "The Class" are all about loud-mouthed, obnoxious 30-year-olds living in their sylish Manhattan apartments, having promiscuous sex and seeing how loud they can be. With all this going on, has the traditional sitcom - the "Everybody Loves Raymond"'s and the "Seinfeld"'s of the world - have these types of show been laid to rest? Let me know.

so there is a girl i like, who says she has some feelings/attraction towards me, but that there is a guy she has known longer and therefore her feelings for him are strong. also, i am graduating and moving away in 4 weeks. she said that i gave her so much belief in herself that she decided to tell the guy she liked him. he didn't say if he likes her or not but she says he has done nothing to indicate it. so i don't know what to do. part of me wants to tell her that she is special to me and we could make the long distance thing work. she admits that she has feelings for me and would be with me but for the long distance thing. another part of me thinks i need to encourage her to be with him, because that could make her happy and above anything, i place her happiness because she has done a lot for me emotionally. another part of me wants to just ask her to be with me while i'm here so we can share a deeper connection. so what should i do- fight for her or be her friend?

I am fortunate to live along the Garden Route in South Africa, but so much development is taking place and is interfering with our natural environment, I am surrounded by quite a bit of wild life which really pleases me, but it seems to me we are invading their space. The wild Pigs that live in the forest on my property have stopped digging in our rubbish bins, since I do feed them and not junk food. I would like to believe that I respect their territory.

I'm in love and have been dating this guy for 2 and a half years. Now, after putting in so much effort, we've got our parents to meet up and discuss our wedding.

I'm terrified of the responsibilties, and I'm scared. Maybe it's because I'm stepping out of my comfort zone, my territory?

I'm nervous, and frightened. It's a turning point in my life.

I can't be the only one now, can I?

everyone...but don't understand why. I do talk to my customers. They know me. I know them. I keep up when they are sick, if a baby is born, if someone died, when the homeless guys are in jail, when ppl are on vacation, everything. My customers have been very supportative during my extended illness.

I just have one of those personalities where I draw ppl in to me. They say I'm the best cashier (on the planet...possible the universe). I really do care for them. I've had ppl get married and stop in to see me before they left for their honeymoon. I've had customers want me to come see them in the hospital. I've gone to their funerals. I was the first person to change one little girls diaper who didn't work at the hospital when I went to see one customer in the hosp. I had supported the parents through really wanting a baby and when the baby finally arrived...I had to be there too.
It's like being a celerbrity.

I haven't gotten along with him in years. And no, its not that I don't get along with him just because I'm a teenager (18). It just seems like he resents me for not being how he thinks I should be. He says things that he knows will hurt my feelings.(Example: I have been severly depressed for a couple of months now. I need therapy. He has told me therapy is only for the weak, and also that I don't need it anyway, because there's nothing wrong with me. I'm just "pretending".) Arguing doesn't help. He's a know-it-all. And I know I'd either be dead or disowned if he knew a couple of unknown things about me. But, I live with him, like it or not. What should I do to make living better here?
