I am fortunate to live along the Garden Route in South Africa, but so much development is taking place and is interfering with our natural environment, I am surrounded by quite a bit of wild life which really pleases me, but it seems to me we are invading their space. The wild Pigs that live in the forest on my property have stopped digging in our rubbish bins, since I do feed them and not junk food. I would like to believe that I respect their territory.

Unfornunately we can't stop it. The human race is growing and is taking up more and more of the earth every day. Just enjoy what you have while you have it! Not everybody is as considerate as we are to wildlife and money is the route of all evil. The real estate pigs will beat the wild pigs every time.

Hmmm.

Ok, don't take this the wrong way but a couple of initial points first:-

1. You are feeding the local wild animals - in what way does this have anything to do with the "natural order" of things - you are helping them become dependent on you.

2. If you truly respect their territory, you will do as you wish the developers to do - clear off their land and let your home once again become part of their land. In fairness you do identify this when you say "....WE are invading their space."

However I am guessing you are not quite so keen on that idea as this is *YOUR* property which has YOUR money and interests tied up in it - whereas the Real estate guys are "someone else".

In the UK we call it the NIMBY syndrome -Not In My Back Yard- the inference being "but if it only affects somebody else, then that's just fine".

There are people - just like you - who would like to purchase land along the garden route and - just like FOR you - there are real estate guys keen to fill that requirement.

It is a shame - you *are* right but until someone actually puts their OWN money where their mouth is, we need to accept that the slippery slope is only pointing in one direction.

The best way to do this is to let Environmental Protection Services in your area know that you are not happy get people interested- the more the merrier. The problem that you are having goes on here to Alberta, Canada. Luckily we have watch dogs like you who see and speak out to people in the area this can work well if you get people with Environmental Backgrounds behind you.

As a client, i will inform you there's an astounding sort of opposition for you precise now. the biggest element that stored us from watching some properties replaced into their value. some million/2 of our marketplace is at present indexed way too intense. there have been properties we knew we wish, yet did no longer even seem at them through fact their vendors we are asking a real looking value. (specific, I understand that for the duration of this marketplace, the checklist value is largely a commence. yet we mandatory to *commence* at asking them to return down over $40,000!) Take a competent seem on the comps on your area. Is your place indexed as between the costlier ones? force around to open properties to work out what the competition is as much as. Are you residing house whilst certainly everyone seems to be watching your place? This made up somewhat uncomfortable through fact we felt we had to make small-talk with the vendors and constantly have constructive issues to declare, quite than be waiting to ask our Realtor questions approximately what we've been watching. upload the words "no longer a quick Sale" on your itemizing. it may sound dumb, yet understanding that we would be coping with actual human beings, as hostile to waiting for a financial employer, have been given us to seem at properties we does no longer have otherwise seen.
