If you meet someone online and all you have are phone calls and chats online, is it possible to fall in love with each other?

I met my fiancee online over six years ago. I loved him long before I kissed him for the first time. I believe that the lack of physical contact forces people over the internet to get to know each other better than if they were dating traditionally. We still had a few wrinkles to smooth out once we moved closer to one another but we had already fallen in love.

Yes, it happened to me. But we met several times after the first few months so it's not exactly what you are referring to. I really don't know that you can truly love someone unless you've had a chance to spend time with them in person. People online can be far different from who they usually are. In person it's harder to hide your faults/shortcomings. So yes you can fall in love, but it won't be a very deep love until you are together for a while.

Yes, it's possible. My husband and I met online and communicated only by phone and internet for the first 6 months of our relationship.

We've now been married for 7.5 years.

My only advice is be careful. There are a lot of weirdos out there.

Oh most definitely!!! I am going through that right now.It is harder then a 'regular' relationship but it can really work.........if you know that the person your talking to isn't making things up......pictures are a must....so you can really find that special someone.......just be careful about giving out your info in the beginning until you know its something you want to pursue. Meeting them later in the relationship is a most too.

it's not impossible to fall in love with each other this way, it's just hard to have a "real" relationship without the physical aspect of it. No hand holding or kisses :( sad.

It is possible to fall in love.
I tried it once but it failed. The fact that we met on line first, wasn't the reason for the failure ....well, that guy was just a flop.
I still have a few real good on line friends :-)

Sure. Most of the time all that BS has been talked about and dealt with. Think about the "love at first sight" scenario, for comparison purposes... could happen, does happen.

Is It lasting? No in most cases.

Yeah. I know of someone who had a guy fall in love with her. I'm not sure how she felt about it but she was pretty upset when he stopped communicating with her after he confessed it. They were really close even if they hadn't met.
