I started moonlighting 2 hours a night telemarketing for a mortgage broker. This is nonautomated (I dial and wait for them to pick up) cold-calling from a book of leads, all people who took out mortgages 1-3 years ago and MAY be ready to refinance. I get basic info such as dates, lenders, fixed/variable, approx rate.

I got very little training but I have been in sales before and am usually good on the phone. I am supposed to find people ready to refinance and hand them to a loan officer.

The boss has been very disparaging that I've only found 2 leads after six 2-hour shifts. I don't think he realizes most calls don't answer—either don't pick up or go to machines. If someone answers, the person I need usually isn't avail or doesn't speak English.

Of those I talk to, most aren't interested—they don't need to refi, already refi'd, or have someone they want to work with, or just won't talk to some random company.

How many calls should I realistically make in order to get 1 lead

I put CF lightbulbs in my ceiling fixtures and they are hanging down. The package says they can be installed this way. Within a day the lightbulbs burn out. The wiring has been checked out and it is ok. Gone through a couple of packages testing it. Any ideas?

Previously we had regular light bulbs which worked fine. We were trying to save some energy though.

I love my wife very much and our 3 kids but I attracted an Std and have not gone to the doctor yet and have had sex with my wife. I am scared and dont want to tell her.. A man and his wife are in the shower together when the doorbell rings. The wife puts on a robe and goes down to answer the door.

In walks her husband’s friend Ben. The woman tells him her husband’s in the shower and asks if he can come back later. Instead, Ben steps in and quietly says, "I have $400 in my pocket. I’ll give it to you if you’ll open your bathrobe for me." She’s offended, but really needs the money so she agrees, opens her robe, and lets Ben have a quick peek before doing it up again. Ben gives her the $400, and she opens the door for him to leave, but he says, "I have another $400 in my other pocket. I’ll give it to you if you let me touch your breasts." Now she’s really mortified, but again, she needs the money, so she undoes her robe and lets him have a quick feel. Taking the other $400 from him, she lets him out the door.

Going back upstairs, she gets back in the shower with her husband, feeling a little bit guilty.

"Who was that?" the husband asks.

"Oh, that was just Ben," the wife answers.

I'm becoming legitimately concerned for him, out of love.

My high schooler brother is addicted to World of Warcraft. He's played the game for the past couple years, but before that, he's played Everquest for many years. Even before that, he's had a big affinity for video games.

He plays the game so much. We've had conversations about the futulity of the game and he agrees with me, but he still continues to play it.

I feel that he's using it as a standby for a real social life. He has a group of buddies that accept him hanging out with them in school, but he tells me that he doesn't care about really befriending anyone at school, even the people who play also World of Warcraft.

He has a high IQ and could be doing very well in school, but he's either getting bad grades or just coasting with easy classes/study halls filling his schedule.

Both Iran and Nkorea were termed as evil by the Bush Regime. Iran says its developing nuclear technology for energy generation and not wepons, yet America has not ruled out use of force to stop the Iranians though even U.S officials admit that even if the Iranians are developing wepons they will need a few years to do so. On the other hand the North Koreans have been shouting that they have nuclear wepons and defied the world community by conducting a nuclear test but the U.S doesnt talk of force here. Strange because unlike Iran the North Koreans have missiles that can reach U.S shores and going by the record of North Korea in profiliation it cant be ruled out that they wouldnt give this technology to other countries or groups like it gave missile technology to Pakistan. Use of force against Iran which is few years away from the wepon but only sanctions against NKorea which is has a nuclear wepon and is a bigger threat to the U.S and its allies.
