Well, depending on the topic, there are lots of researchers trying to contribute for the betterment of our country. At present, the researchers are trying to find ways to help the farmers in collaboration with the peopple of IRRI, International Rice Research Institute to eliminate the spoilage of rice during rainy season. Not only that, they also trying to improve the economic condition of the country.

Research here are not that well funded unllike abroad. Credibility lies on the person who makes the research. Sometimes professors are not that encouraging with the students with regards to their studies. Some of them make use of their power to reject some studies & even make fun of some students. Some are fortunate to have good advisers. Some professors need to be investigated by their universities with regards to this!

yes just accept the offer especially if they pay for it.and i am a foreigner for now 7 years in palawan.why not accepting the offer?i think that if they do it they mean it. go for it
