Adam and Eve were banished from the (albeit figurative) Garden of Eden because they ate the (figurative) Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. To put the story simply, Adam and Eve were in an original state of holiness with God. After a while, they decide to do their own thing, and could care less about God. This was the Original Sin which doomed all of mankind.

Well. The weeds in the garden were really getting out of control! Eve was complaining to Adam that, "Every time she went to hang out the washing, the long grass was tickling her @rse"!

Adam was fed up being "Nagged" about it and asked God for a "Hoe". Got was a wee bit hard of hearing, he sent down a "*****". Adam shagged her and got caught by Eve!

Eve was so pissed off, that, she had a relationship with a snake! Adam thought she was a sl*t and told her so. Eve told Adam that the snake was better than his "Snake". The "*****" woluld not do the weeding! The grass got longer, so God evicted them and brought in a landscape gardener!

In Genesis, it says they were driven out to keep them from eating of the tree of life, which would have likely made their fallen condition permanent, and beyond redemption.

For disobedience. God told them that they could have free reign of the garden. Only thing was that they could not eat from one particular tree. They let the devil, disguised as a snake, talk them into eating from the tree. And for being disobedient, God vanished them from the garden.

Because they didn't obey God's commandment. God told them if they ate of the fruit, they would surely die. They sinned, they were driven from God's presence, and there action brought pain, suffering and death into the world.

It was a picture for us. When we sin, we put a barrier between us and God. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death, which is separation from God. When we sin, we deserve death and eternal banishment from God in Hell.

Jesus though, paid our debt for us on the Cross. If we accept what He did for us on the Cross, and make Him Lord of our lives, we will live eternally with Him in Heaven.
