What is the difference between buying a house as a second home or as an investment property? Which one is better from mortagage rate and insurance stand point?

Are there any advantages of one over the other?

I heard that mortgage rates and home owners insurance is less on 2nd home. Can a house bought as a second home rented out after the purchase?

My son has been attending the same wonderful home day care since he was 12 weeks old. In the last month, he has begun fighting us every morning about getting dressed and leaving the house to go to school. The day care environment is friendly and loving, and once he's there, he's fine. All smiles, happy, cheerful, and immediately begins playing with his friends. The mornings usually begin nicely, but within a few minutes, he begins whining about not going to school which within about 5 minutes escalates into a full-scale screaming bout about not wanting to get dressed. This ritual has me and my husband almost at our wits' end, and some days is making us late for work, which is unacceptable. Some of the children that he used to be close to have moved away and there are a few new kids, including his new brother, who is now almost 6 months old. He loves his brother, all hugs and kisses - never mean to him, so I don't think this is the problem. Any advice on how to counter this behavior?

What happened to giving the Republicans time to clean up the mess made by Democrats? They didn't want want to give Bush or the Republican House time to clean up the mess made on Clinton's watch. Now they are saying the mess; (what mess?) made by Republicans will take years to clean up. So what is the difference? Seems we are fighting a war against ourselves. Things once voted on are changed and people overlooking what matters just fighting their opposite side to keep from making things work. Nothing is happening because we are opposing every side. No final decisions are really being made. All I hear are promises and they do absolutely no good when American's in public office will not agree on anything. How can we possibly go forward with anything at all? Republican or Democrat what difference does it make? So make all your pretty speaches but I say get something done this time.

I am in love with this man, we have been on again off again for about 6 months, know him from years ago, is my lost love. Well; we will start seeing each other again and when I think that things are really going good, he disappears off the map, no contact, like I have done something wrong. He told my friend, not me, that it is because of the fact I smoke and he doesn't. Have stated that I would quit, I am that crazy in love with him. Is the smoking thing just an excuse??? Hi,

Asked this before, but I think I worded it wrong, so I'll try again. My doctor's receptionist does a lot of "extras" in the office. She is not a nurse, nor has she had any medical schooling at all (according to her). She gives flu shots, freezes and removes moles and skin tags, hands out prescription samples (not under doc's recommendations)...These are things I've seen firsthand.
I'm a little worried and am thinking of switching doctors because I'd rather have a qualified nurse or at least someone who has taken a course or two.
Is a receptionist allowed to do these things? I never thought they were but.....who knows.
