how can you tell if somone is genuine or not, gilrs family, members etc

It's not as black and white as some people here are telling you. People "use" people on a daily basis. You can love someone and still use them. If you are asking this question. well, without a doubt. You are being used too often. If you feel that you are being used. Pull them aside and ask them to stop. Plain and simple.

First off you can start by saying everyone if at least 70% fake....
Then anyone who asks you for money earn the extra 30%, anyone in a relationship that does not bring something to the table but wants a relationship earns 30%, anyone who only calls when they want something earns 30%.
Everyone else is questionable.....

Ask them for some help, similar to what you have done for them. If they make excuses then they are using you.
If they don't then it doesn't mean the end of the relationship, just the abuse.

people who are using don't reciprocate, are not there for you when you need something. they always have an excuse not to help you but always need something from you. your always their best friend and they're super happy when you accomodate them. you don't get invited to events and parties and they always say well, I didn't know you wanted to. they didn't know because they didn't want to. do I sound like I've been used? a little bitter maybe? lol

They are using you if you have to reach in your wallet or purse to help them. They are using you if you are using your time to help them instead of enjoying quality time with them that you enjoy. They are using you if they are more concerned about their problems in life, more than your problems. And they are using you if you catch them telling you untruths.
