Looks like you nailed the answer. They want power and will stop at nothing to get it. Anything goes with them. Another thing, they want to outlaw your guns so you will not be able to fight back one day. When guns are outlawed, you will see another side of their tyranny.

Concerning Christian liberals, I don't understand how you can support them with their stances on homosexuality and abortion and actually call yourself a Christian. (my opinion only)

First, provide some sources before you toss accusations around.

Second, the repub quest for power was unmatched. Warrant-less surveillance of American citizens.
Elimination of habeas corpus.
Peeking into your emails and library records.
Allowing corporations to operate without accountability and to record the highest profits ever all the while getting tax subsidies from Bush's administration.
Forcing the tax burden onto the other 95% of us who aren't millionaires.
Wasting billions in Iraq and Afghanistan by giving money to contractors like Halliburton and Kellog Brown and Root who failed to do the job required of them all the while banking our tax dollars for profit.

Where's the justice in any of that?

Right and just will happen if Bush Co. is held responsible for throwing this country under the bus for the last 5 years.

You talk about liberal quest for power, and yet youl practicaly gave bush total domination.
Your new agenda is to hope we (lib's) fail so you can say "told you so".
What you call our quest for power is merely our desire to put things right.
1.As long as people are'nt hurting other people what they do is OK. We don't like Hypocrites like Ted Haggarty and Foley although nothing the matter with being gay. Here is the president of the whole evangelicle movement putting down gay's on the one hand and participating in it on the other hand. If some one screw's up like that. We condem them.
2, Our social programs are geared to help peolple not as fortunate as us or who cant help them selves.. Contrary to conservatives who think they are entitled to what ever they rake in using what ever means they can, regardless of the consequences to others. now what you cons do is find a few people who take advatage of our genourous gestures and say every one is like that, completely missing the point that the majarity have benifited from them and in the long run will better society as a wole.
3. the catholics and christians liberals do what they think is morally right redardless of what their church or YOU may think is right or wrong..And some of them are doing exactly what their church agrees upon. More power to them.
Quit whining about your loss and realize that bush added more power then any modern president and he was trying to add more...My god people .. he wanted to be king. Talk about poere hungry

I would posit to you that power is IMPERATIVE to do the right thing. Power is necessary so we may attempt to correct the wrongs perpetrated by the radical rightwing portion of the government. In answer to your questions:
1. In the Republican portion of our political spectrum we have people who subvert the Constitution (freedom of speech, religion, and press. Rescind the right of habeas corpus. Lie to the American people about getting us into a war of choice, not necessity. And the list goes on. I cite here only a few of the egregious crimes perpetrated by the leaders of the Republicans. If you refer to deviant behaviour, I hardly think conservatives have a leg to stand on with the Foley scandal, among others.
2. Although there are some relevant points in this argument, we do not scrap the whole system and leave millions without food or shelter because of the abuse of the system by a relative few. What is needed is tweaking and refining of the current system so that fewer abusers are allowed on it to begin with, or so that the abusers are identified and knocked off the rolls if their need is due to laziness or lack of motivation. Also, we need to give them the tools necessary to get off of welfare and stand on their own two feet. Education or job training, which can be used now, should be focused upon. There are too many options for refining the system to name here. It would take a volume.
3. One of the things theocratic radicals are so prone to doing is judging others for their failures and mistakes. One of Jesus's main points is to learn not to condemn others for their frailties and mistakes. Yet TR's insist upon doing this while espousing the teachings of the Master. I am pro-choice. While I may earnestly implore women who are thinking of getting an abortion not to do so, I finally must accede to their wishes. It is their choice. I do believe however that there should be tight restrictions placed on the option of abortion. We do not put abortion above the teachings of our church, but we do interpret those teachings differently. Just because our view of the teachings does not coincide with someone else's narrow view of them, does not mean we do not worship and follow the teachings of the same God. As we prefer to follow a God of love and forgiveness, some others choose to follow one of vengeance and hate.
Try to expand your view and consider how others feel about things. All people do not have to agree on every issue in order to get along.

I don't know, but I do know that the conservatives have already proven that "power" is more important than "doing the right thing". At least now there is a possibility that good decisions will be made, before the election it was just one bad decision after another.

Are you so sure you are talking about just the liberals...or could the current Republican-controlled White House and Congress fit that same description?

Seems the issues you rightly brought up could easily be wrapped over the shoulders of Republicans as Democrats.

Blah, blah, blah, don't you have some kids to take care of or some maid to pay............

Generalizing makes you look bad, not all Libs - I'm not Liberal - are this way!!!! I know plenty of good ones who love our country and love God. The above statements you made are off the map.

Maybe you should walk in someone else's shoes before you say they are dependent on the Government. Do you know all of those people, their situation in life. Does compassion even cross those lips.

Go do something constructive with all the time you have on your hands.

Problem, who defines "what is right"? Here the American people the MAJORITY define right and just. Most in America accept there are many many ways to define what is right for YOU. Problem with Ultra Right Wing Con's are they view everyone else as children without ability to choose correctly, sorry America is quite of age to be self responsible.

Your hypocrisy is astounding. Your party had control and blew it big time. Why? For the exact same reasons your accusing the dems of. The difference is that the conservatve dems are in power and were not going to be as stupid and ignorant as the republicans were.

Excuse me but power? None of the things you mentioned has anything to do with power. All it has to do with is not following "christian" standards. So what is separation of church and state dead to you cons? Oh and this is coming from someone who's most recent president has been on the biggest personal power-trip of any president in the century for the past 3 years. Yeah, go die please.
