nothing will be done. politics is all about money and power. politicians get into office by saying what we want to hear (hitler did the same thign to the german people) the republicans and their freinds who helped shape policies and law during reagan's 2 terms and Bush sr's term profited during clinton's term, and are again profiting during bush's. the mess they speak of in particular is the war in iraq. a war started on a lie, and is just a vehicle to make halliburton, cheney and all the rest richer, at the expense of american lives. 9-11 gave bush an opportunity to rule through fear. every other day a vague terror alert was issued, saddam helped al qaida (no proof) saddam has WMD (none found), Let's start a WAR ON TERROR, this is never ending, gives them a blank check to do whtever they want while the masses cower in fear. if there really is a war on terror, why only rhetoric in dealing with iran (developing nukes - aleggedly) and North Korea (testign nukes (again, aleggedly the only thing confirmed about their tests is a seismic event, no concrete evidence of nukes) they used 9-11 to pass the patriot act in effect allowing the Government to strip rights from the citizens, domestic spying etc. you are correct in saying in doesn't make a difference republican or democrat they're all the same, liars with their own agendas, agendas that have nothign to do with solving america's problems of unemployemnt, homelessness, poverty, education and makign this country great again.

I am not sure which "mess" you are refering to pertaining to the Clinton administration. I'm not saying that was a perfect time in our nation's history, just that I was too young to pay attention to politics at that time and so feel that I cannot comment on something I did not participate in. The "mess" some of the Democrats are accusing the Republicans of is the situation in the Middle East. Many people (including many Republicans, which has caused that party to split and partially turn against the president) are unhappy that war was declared without Congress' approval and/or are unhappy with the way the military campaign in Iraq has been handled.
I do not think they are holding a double standard, not yet, at least. After all, the elections were only a few days ago and they need time to settle in and get reorganized. Whether they manage to fulfill their promises remains to be seen. Simply put, the American people are tired of sending their children overseas in a uniform and getting them back in a coffin. Congress must take time and be careful about ending the military occupation because the country is still very unstable, but it does need to be ended because it is just that- an occupation (of an unwilling country by an unwilling country).
As far as America fighting with itself, I must agree. Our voting system needs a major overhaul. Not that I am ungrateful for the right to vote, because I am- and I just voted for the first time this week- but because the electoral and two-party systems are outdated and somewhat corrupt. That is just my opinion, though. Despite the problems of our government, I am still proud to be an American. Are you?

You ask, "what mess?".
Well, the war in Iraq comes to mind ... you know the one started by Republican George Jr. under false pretenses? The very same war that if memory serves, we "won" a few years back ... you must remember that day when Republican George Jr. stood on the deck of a carrier and made that announcement?
And then, of course, there's the fact that because Republican Georgie can't seem to open his mouth without letting out yet another lie or deception, countries who once stood at our side can't stand the sight of us any more.
I could go on, but why bother? Republican or Democrat or Independent ... unless a person's been living under a rock for the past six years, there's no way they don't know about all the damage Georgie Boy has done to us so far during his reign.
Little Republican George has spent six years messing this country up .... so, yup, it just might take some time to fix it.

Some people forget to look in the mirror. This democrat did vote for Bush the first time but did not the second time. If Obama succeeds then that means that America has succeeded. What is the harm? Give him a chance and see what happens. Don't let it become a self-fulfilling prophecy. No. That is WRONG. The government does not want to take peoples' guns away. It is the second amendment of our very important Constitution that Bush called a "gddmn piece of paper." The government wants to keep people safe. (ensure the general welfare) Keep guns out of lunatics hands. How do you do that? It is not so easy. It does not work as intended. (see VA Tech) Obama has promised common sense legislation. What is working? What is not working? What more can you do? More legislation is not always the answer. It's the easiest than throwing everything out though. It's trade-offs. If this issue is important to you then throw your 2 cents in to all of your elected officials at the federal level. The abortion issue is not black and white. It is not. Biology does not work so smoothly. A baby will be born without a heart. This happens. The baby cannot survive. Make the mother carry to term? Or let her decide when to abort. I have faith in people and our doctors. Unless you have the equipment then you have no right to tell us that do what we can do with our bodies. If so then men that have no intention of being fathers should have a vasectomy. A mother that makes the painful decision to abort is not hurting anyone else. She is not hurting you for example. It is her private and very personal decision. Abortion is NOT birth control. Make birth control easily available to everyone. Educate. Make sure people know about the opportunities that are available to them. A big problem is that so many people are clueless as to what is out there. They are very naive. People in this group find it amusing when others in their group are naive. I've seen it. I think it's quite sad but you can't reason with them. They don't understand. I am a huge proponent of a quality and full education (within reason). edit: In MA, we have school choice. I don't think that involves vouchers. It only applies to public schools. Obama is still paying taxes though he sends his kids to private school. People that can afford to send their kids to private school don't need tax money to do so. It would seriously undermine or has the potential to undermine our already troubled public schools. More needs to be done with public school to get them teaching like they need to. A lot of potentially great teachers get turned off by teaching because of all the nonsense that interferes with teaching.

Clinton's Mess? What type of mess is that?! If it is the sex scandal GET OVER IT.
Clinton could point to the lowest unemployment rate in modern times, the lowest inflation in 30 years, the highest home ownership in the country's history, dropping crime rates in many places, and reduced welfare rolls. He proposed the first balanced budget in decades and achieved a budget surplus. As part of a plan to celebrate the millennium in 2000, Clinton called for a great national initiative to end racial discrimination.
In the world, he successfully dispatched peace keeping forces to war-torn Bosnia and bombed Iraq when Saddam Hussein stopped United Nations inspections for evidence of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. He became a global proponent for an expanded NATO, more open international trade, and a worldwide campaign against drug trafficking. He drew huge crowds when he traveled through South America, Europe, Russia, Africa, and China, advocating U.S. style freedom.
The Republicans have dug America in such a deep hole that of course it is going to take awhile for Democrats to clean it up.
I suggest you do research on Pres. Bush before you start talking about promises.
Just take a look at Bush's broken promises with:
Americorps
Aids Funding
Conservation Trust Fund
Deficits
National Debt
Energy Assistance
Education
Student Loans
To make things easier for you I have provided you with a website.

The MESS is how Bush managed to divide our country......when Clinton was in office, our country was not divided and internationally we were respected by world leaders.....After Bush, our country is in gridlock and world leaders have no respect for our 'leader' and they basically cant stand him
Please be honest....this is not about partisanship....Bush is an incompetent leader and apparently many voters in your own party think so otherwise they would not have voted DEMOCRAT
So before you start bashing Dems...think about the TRUTH and you'll come with answers to your own questions
And furthermore, there is no double standard

The mess is our foreign policy and the division within our own country. It's taken Bush 6 years to get us to this point, and it will take a while to clean it back up.

These statements keep getting longer. Pretty soon we will be caucusing as if nothing just happened we are awaiting an election.
The worse part is that we are force feeding this to Iraq as if there is nothing wrong.

You're suggesting the US was in a mess on Clinton's watch, yet you question the mess we're in today? I guess that's a question. I should post it. You scare me.
