I am in love with this man, we have been on again off again for about 6 months, know him from years ago, is my lost love. Well; we will start seeing each other again and when I think that things are really going good, he disappears off the map, no contact, like I have done something wrong. He told my friend, not me, that it is because of the fact I smoke and he doesn't. Have stated that I would quit, I am that crazy in love with him. Is the smoking thing just an excuse??? Can someone who doesn't smoke, be with someone who does and be happy? Is he blowing me some crap? Please give advice

He is "blowing smoke!" If he was serious about it, he would have just told you that he was having a problem with your smoking and worked it out with you. There's something else going on. Forget about him and move on.

Honestly love sucks!! sadly to say it doesnt get much better than that for some. But if I had to give you some advice I would say just to move on. Your heart is broken for a reason. If he truely loved you there would be no question about any other girls.You are 17 so u have a long journey ahead of yourself. More fish in the sea I guess you could say. I have been through many situation such as yours and they all end up horrible. I am very tender hearted and always want to makes things work so everyones happy but sadly this cant always work. You need to sit down and think to yourself and ask if you would be truely happy with this guy knowing that at any second he could turn his back on you. Or if you would rather go and find someone who looks at you like your their world and nobody else is visible to them. Someone who treats you like the angel you are. Good luck sweetheart.

My advice is to stop smoking. I stopped see a wonderful lady how by the way was a great lover. But she smoked. Her hair reeked with smoke fumes. Her Clothes the same. She an I go along just fine. I personally can't stand the cig smoke. So I let her go to some one who did smoke. By the way if you can stop, you will be a lot better off. GOOOOOOOOOOOOD LUCK.

I would say thats just an excuse. Because you smoke is no real reason to go on hiatus. My fiance smokes, I dont, I HATE that he smokes but I dont disappear every once in a while because of it.
Id say move on. He's using a really lame excuse. Theres got to be something more to it.

No it is not a excuse.I think he does not love you.You should try to forget him.He is a mismatch you because he just want to leave you thats why he make such an excuse. on the other hand smoking is not good for health so you should leave it.I know it is difficult but you should try.

it sounds like he's using it as an excuse. if that was the case then he would tell you listen I can't stand smoking you have to quit for this to work . he may have other issues, like commitment or maybe he has a gf/wife on the side who knows but it's definately an excuse.
