well....the western media will script you this logic:

o my god, look at the poor israelis! everyone hates them and do not even recognize their right to exist...they are only defending their citizens....

but this is a more neutral view:

since the conception of Israel...the arab states retaliated...not because they inherently wanted israel and its people off the map...but the injustice of TAKING AWAY palestinian land, and giving it to the Israelis....just 'because'...

This was interpreted as injustice and what started the animosty...the anti-semitic hatred also played a role becaues they didn't like that "a bunch of jews" would just take arab land unjustly...

since then...Israel has marginalized a people (palestinians), not recognizing THEIR RIGHT TO EXIST....since 1945...Israelis have marginalized and oppressed palestinians to a very small peice of land for the relative population (in fact, the largest ratio of people to land in the world!).

- There must be a god because you see him/her/it in the beauty and perfection of nature, DNA, starts, etc

- evolution has recently been proven false because of "such and such" magazine article/scientist/study, etc

- I'd rather play it safe and believe, than risk my immortal soul

- I know there's a god because he speaks to me everyday

- if you put a bunch of parts in a bag and shake it up, you don't get a computer

- Jesus died for your sins... if you'd only study the teachings of the bible, you'd come to understand the truth

- are you telling me you came from a monkey? I KNOW I didn't come from a monkey!

- how could life just happen? How can something come from nothing?

- Do you actually expect me to start reading and studying science? I'd have to leave the comfort and safety of my cocoon of dogma!

Okay, I'm starting to digress, but you all get the point. I know we all slap our frontal lobes and say, "ugg" (or chuckle to ourselves), but is there any hope for these poor folks?

I'm thinking about applying for a waitress job. However, I'm don't fit the stereotypical waitress mold. I'm kinda heavyset and I'm average height. I've never seen anyone like that working at any resturant. Do employers pick girls who fit the stereotypical mold of a waitress on purpose or do heavyset girls decide not to apply because they don't fit that mold? Would you make fun of a heavyset waitress?

I have really been tight with this one white chick from work who is exactly one year older than me (18 yrs. old)and is completely "barbie doll beautiful." Yes she has the whole blonde hair, blue eyes thing going and not to mention an awesome tan. I've known her for about a year now and over that time I think that we have had some awesome times together and I feel as though she is just waiting for me to ask her out, but I'm just too much of a shy guy of course. Now she is in college and that makes it kind of difficult for me to ask now because I don't know whats going on in her personal life. I do e-mail her quite often and she responds to all of my e-mails. I am the one thing that kept her from quitting work because I urged her to stay and she now comes back to visit on her breaks and promises to work some during that time. So is it a good idea to take it to the next level?

HAve you ever called someone because you were thinking of them? And when you talk to them, they tell you they were just thinking about you? Or you can be thinking of someone, and then out of no where they call you. Freud studied this, but I can't find the article. How is it, sometimes we mutually think of each other, and than at other times they don't even cross our mind? What is this called? Any websites or books discussing this?

Ok so i'm almost 19 and I'm seeing this guy. We're getting married and he has a daughter that's almost a year and a half. Her mother is a two face. (We all went to school together so i've known her for three years) She acts all nice to me then talks **** behind my back. That doesn't bother me too much, but this is what does... My fiance gives her $310 a month. She gets WIC but only works part time. She just bought a new car so she makes that her first priority. She will call my fiance and if he doesn't answer she'll keep calling. One day she called over 60 times within 15 minutes. She said she was calling because she had no diapers. He gave her 50 a day prior to this phone call. He gets her every weekend. Yesterday he got served. She's taken him to court for child support. She keeps telling him his daughter isn't even his. She thinks this is all a joke. So what do we do now?

I am currently in a religious ethics class and am studying Judaism. I am having trouble thinking of an ethical topic in the Jewish religion. I miscarried...but then I was on birth control for only two weeks..I started a week after I miscarried. My question is this..I was only on it for 2 weeks, and I spotted some but really started bleeding 9-10 days later...now was that withdrawal bleeding or possible ovulation with period??
