Dogs have a really great way of sensing what is going on regarding a persons feelings. Maybe the dog senses your mom needs the comfort? Is she ill? Dont worry about it, just treat your dog well & dont resent it for sleeping in your mothers bed, it will eventually return.

It happens all the time. They just take to some ppl better then others. It has nothing to do with you. I had a cat that I got when she was only 3 weeks old and I had to bottle feed her give ehr meds teach her how to eat and so on and I didn't work I was home with her for like a month or so and she liked my husband more than me. Or it seemed that way, when it came down to it I knew she loved me the same but she liked being around him. Your mom may have a vibe the dog likes. Or your mom does something different with the dog then you do. Don't take it personal. Animals can be funny. Yuor dog still loves you I promise. Maybe just try to spend some extra time with her and show her how much you love her. Well I hope I helped. Good luck!

Perhaps your mother is feeding the pup? Dogs have instincts that tell them who the boss is, and since your Mom is the boss of you, then your dog is simply showing respect to the alpha.
I bought a dog for my 16yr old daughter because she was jealous of my dog. Within a week she'd given up on 'her' dog because it followed me around everywhere and wanted to snuggle in my lap instead of hers.
It's all about showing respect and giving love to the one who will protect you.
Try being the ONLY one who feeds your dog, pets your dog, walks your dog. Ask mom nicely to let you take care of your dog, just be sure you are responsible enough to take the right kind of care of your dog.
I suggest reading/listening to some of the Podcasts from http://www.leerburg.com. Loads of great advice there.

Two possibilities:
1) Mom's been slipping her treats when you're not looking
2) Mom smells like meat
OK, seriously, sometimes, dogs can sense a person's mood and from what I've seen, they're great caretakers and tend to stay with the person that needs them most at the time. Doesn't mean it's permanent. Give it time and ummm, don't forget to slip a few treats into your pocket.
Couldn't hurt!

Well this could be for alot of reasons. Is your mom the one that feeds the dog? Or is your mom the one that takes care of the dog while you are away (school, work, etc.)? Or it could be you are smoothering your dog with attention that is unwanted and b/c your mom is playing "hard to get" might be why she is showing more interest towards her.

I wouldn't know what's going on in her head either, but maybe the dog just needs a break from you and likes your mother!

Has your mom been spending more time with your dog, and/or feeding it? Our dog, will go back and forth between me, and our youngest daughter. Lately, he's been rooming with her, but she doesn't feed him, or anything like that. He just loves her too.

Could be that your dog senses that your mom needs her company more than you do. Also, it could be that your mom is the meal provider!
