I am a Herbologist that can give you advise on 'proven' alternatives to treat your depression.
The most popular is Saint Johns Wort.
Amino Acids are essential for anyone who suffers depression.
Ginko Biloba is widely used by doctors in china for this
specific problem.
Most importantly, spend time with people who make you feel good, and take a walk every day, if possible.
I will be praying for you to have peace from this ailment.

cognitive therapy may be right for you. but if you dont have the time because you have 3 kids then think about starting a self care plan. you might not need a book if you can figure out why you are depressed. take a nice hot bath and talk with your friends.
no matter how you feel right now you will get better.

The best way to battle depression is not in any book.
It lies in your strong willingness to recover.
To do this, you keep your self busy with stuffs your heart will be happy about. See your friends and travel. Shop around and eat your favorite dish and dessert.
You wont even feel that you are depressed.

Five minutes a day with a good guided visualization CD. There are many at your local bookstore, I'm sure you can find the right one to suit your temperament.
