it is unlikely but possible.
I have heard of many females getting positive hpt's at 6 dpo (days past ovulation) and 8 dpo. I had a positive hpt at 12dpo.
It all depends on your levels of pregnancy hormones and the sensitivity of your hpt you are using. Most hpt test for a level of 20 to 50 mIU/ml. As you can see in the link below even as early as week 3 ( or 3 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period) the levels of hcg could be at 50 mIU/ml. Which is sensitive enough for most hpts. Most pregnancy do not hit that level though till week 4.
Again, it is unlikely but you never know.
Hpt do not give false positives because they are looking for a specific hormone. But they DO have evaporation lines that can very much so look like a positive test!
I have also added a link to show such tests and what they look like.
Good luck!

It is possible, IF you happened to have sex on your ovulation day or a day or so before. Being that it's hard for most women to pinpoint their ovulation ( in order to get pregnant), I will bet that you don't know exactly either.
Anyway, if you did have sex on your ovulation day, 4 days may be enough for the fertilized egg to travel down the fallopian tube to get to the uterus in order to implant. Once the egg implants, it starts to produce hCG, which is the hormone that pregnancy tests try to detect. If you take a test before this implantation period, you'll get a negative even if you're really pregnant.
If you've already gotten a positive test, no matter how faint the line is, chances are you're pregnant. If you want to make sure, wait a week and the line should be more pronounced.

no it will usually take 2-3 weeks. conception will only occur a few days out of the month. if you know when you ovulate, you will know when you can get pregnant. i think it is conception occurs 17 or 20 days after ovulation. not sure. but no a hpt will not show that fast. and just for you info and ang.'s sperm takes as little as 5 minutes to reach a viable egg. up to 4-6 hours and some viable sperm may remain in the womans body up to 48 hours, but never would a viable sperm take 2 weeks for the "swimmers"! as for ang. i hope you never have to teach any young person about the babymaking process. you may wanna brush up on you conception knowledge before you post such a silly repsonse.

It would be very very extremely unlikely unless you were already pregnant.
Check out this site for information about how the process of fertilization and implantation and the resulting hcg levels works:

Not likely, unless you already missed a period. I would wait until the first day of your missed period and use morning pee.
