We all know you're *supposed* to have that Emergency Fund saved up and stashed away. And better to have more liquid funds, than less. But how do you calculate 3 months' "living expenses"?

1. The amount of your gross salary salary for 3 months
2. The amount of your net salary for 3 months, because if you lost your job you wouldn't be paying taxes and some other deductions
3. The amount of your usual budget for 3 months, minus amounts normally put in savings/investments accounts, and amounts spent on non-essentials such as clothing, vacations, etc.
4. The amount of your usual budget, minus the taxes, minus the transportation costs (because you're not driving to work) but plus the full cost of health insurance because it wouldn't be partially subsidized by your employer
5. Other ....

Can you see why I find this confusing and never feel like I have "enough"?

my ob/gyn found that i have ovarian cysts, then found out that i am also anemic. he decided to keep an eye on my cysts for awhile to see if they go away on there own instead of removing them right away. i had an iud and because of the heavy periods, he put me on birth control pills and removed the iud to help clear my anemia. this has all happened within 5 months or so. i am really unhappy with taking pills - i don't like the hormonal changes that have been taking place in my body. seriously, im to the point where id rather die than to take these damn pills, but he will not let me stop taking them. he told me that he wants to get ahold of the situation with my cysts first. what the hell do the pills have to do with my cysts?? does anyone know??

Unemployment numbers only count people who report to unemployment offices. Most people don't keep reporting to the unemployment office after their unemployment benefits run out, because there's no point. Therefore, if you're unemployment benefits run out, and you stop going to the unemployment office, you drop off the unemployment rate.

So if everyone who lost a job never got work again, the "unemployment rate" could actually either stay the same or get better. Even if those people are still looking for work.

So it's a meaningless statistic. But for some reason it is still used to say "Hey, look, the economy is great".

One day a man was a soldier. He served proudly for many years. He earned the rank of major and was highly decorated. He led a good clean life. No drugs, social drinking, never drove drunk. He went to church and prayed every Sunday. He did charity work, saved his money, he paid his bills. He stayed physically fit and mentally stable. He was an outstanding person over all.

Two weeks later he was being discharged from the military. Received a dishonorable discharge, couldn’t pay his bills because he had no job. Tossed out of the church he attended for many years, shunned by the parishioners. Was accused of being a pervert, of sick and disgusting acts from his friends.

What did this man do that was so wrong? He loved another man! True story form a few short years ago. However, it happened again today to yet another service man. For the same stupid reason. Knowing all this, will you still vote for the same people who are in office today. Will you stop voting for republican?

I've been broken up for just one day and now my EX is calling me and telling me that she would like to see me. We've been together for 2 yrs and she has broken up with me at least 4 times, should I go see her or not? My friend and I were really close, like sisters, we shared our confidences and problems, but last year, when I got pregnant, she started treating me like her enemy. We work together, and it was really upsetting for me, as she wouldn't talk to me, and everybody noticed. She make life difficult for me and I don't know why. I'm returning to work next January, and she now wants to be friends again, but she's acted badly towards me before also, but I don't want problems at work. What's best? When she's nice, she's really nice, but then she can get so weird, and I don't think I can trust her.
