I thought there were inspectors that look for dirty conditions in restaurants. Wouldn't they check for food being made from things other than chicken?

In the USA yes, but sometimes the food's name is in chinese. It can translate to dog, and make it legal to serve it.

I don't know whether or not it's cat and dog,but Chinese have to eat and make a living just like Americans do.Americans eat beef(cow),pork(hog) plus much more which are all killed cleaned cooked and eaten.Oh' don't forget that juicy Turkey we're about to eat about three weeks from now. It's going to be enjoyed by hundreds of American and other nationalities on Thanksgiving Day.So the possibility is there.Sorry for the animals but this is life today and tomorrow.

When I used to live in Hollywood and my significant other worked at the Northrup in Pico Rivera California.. an asian restaurant that the employees used to go to was closed down by the health dept for serving cats. These people are savages and they know that its against the law in the USA they just don't give a damn. I think we should string people up who do this and serve THEM as food then maybe they wouldnt slaughter the loving innocent who did nothing to deserve their demise. Its bad enough they slaughter cows and pigs and such..but then to also capture torture string up and slaughter cats and dogs.. these people need to be put to death immediately and wiped off the face of the planet..they are wasting oxygen space and don't understand the precious connection to all living things. Is there any way they can be educated.. or is it just too late.

It's no more likely than for McDonald's to use minced cat in their hamburgers, diced pigeon in their cardboard McNuggets, and sieved rat in their freedom fries!

This myth is partly based on the fact that in SOME parts of China, SOME people do eat these things ... that sort of cuisine starts off because they're the only protein sources available! It's not a crime! But it's VERY rare for a restaurant in a Western country to 'cut costs' by using such food! It's not really very cheap to go out hunting cats, pigeons, & rats, and it's not much of a money saver to slaughter, gut, and skin them yourself either..!

But the main fact behind this myth is the racist fact that one culture feels superior when it spreads rumours about another culture. That's where all the "They eat humans!" and "They don't bathe or shower!" and the "They eat dog / cow-sh!t / locusts / their own kids / human waste / etc." tales come from. Sheer hatred of anyone 'different'.

How would YOU feel, if you were running a burger restaurant in another country, and someone started spreading rumours that YOU were using minced dog in your burgers? It could be worse though, some people like to accuse other cultures of cooking foetuses.

My mum told me a couple of months ago while she was giving me a family update that apparently my uncle makes a living by shooting wood pigeons and then selling them to local Indian restaurants (in the UK) for them to pass off as chicken! To say I was shocked is an understatement. I haven't seen my uncle in a few years but I wouldn't put it past him. I asked my mum if the restaurants were aware that they were buying wood pigeons and she said they were.

Of course, this is second-hand information and for all I know it could be wrong, but I doubt it. I believe it is something that goes on in some places but I don't know how widespread it is.

It is possible and is true anywhere u go, in any culture, yes even right here in the USA. It should not b such a shock...one man's pet is another man's food. Just be open minded and remember that just because you own Rover and would never eat him, someone else is gonna starve because Rover is inedible. On the contrary Rover is quit the delicacy in another place and timezone!!. I'ts not for everyone, but adventure is in my nature!
I'v tried gator meat, buffalo meat, Octopus, frogs legs, grasshoppers and flamingo, and all were very tastilly prepared. Looking forward to snake...heard it was something to lick your lips about...YUM!!
ps - there is a food festival geared towards exotic strange foods, and they serve things like crunchy scorpions, maggot cheese (with live maggots) and roasted roach salad!!
Imagine that!!

Dog Training is all about getting your canine to behave well, but some people do it for sports and other entertainment purposes. Some of the other reasons people train their dogs are:

It rewarding since you get a sense of accomplishment once a dog can do something new.
It is a good opportunity to bond with the dog - this is important for the dog and for the owner.
You can make money when you train dogs as a business or for sport.
Training the dog is fun and it challenges the owner and the dog.
Different trainers have different techniques for training their canine. However, some techniques are more effective than others. To learn about the best techniques, visit a registered dog trainer, talk to a veterinarian, or do online or offline research.
There are several types of training that you, or a professional, can explore to train dogs and these are:

1) Behavior and obedience training: One training that is universal is behavior and obedience training. This is done on dogs of all ages, but it is better to start when the canine is a puppy because as they say, it is hard to teach old dogs new tricks. Behavior and obedience dog trainingbrings out the best in the dog and it makes understanding each other easier.

2) House training: House training is very important and it should also start when the dog is still a puppy. House training is all about training the dog to have house manners and to respect your space. There are several techniques used for this and they include crate training and pad training for training the dog to 'go' outside.

3) Positive reinforcement: Positive reinforcement is a new type of training approach and it is all about rewarding the dog for good behavior or for learning a new trick. All animals tend to perform better when there is a promise of a reward. Possible rewards are snacks, interaction with other dogs, giving the dog your attention, or giving the dog tug toys - the reward should take into consideration what the dog likes because dogs are different.

4) Negative reinforcement: Negative reinforcement training approach has been used for many years where the dog is punished for failure to learn or to behave properly, but this does not work because it only makes the canine scared and causes it to lose confidence. Negative reinforcement techniques included beatings and electric shocks.

5) Trick training: Trick training is done for fun, by those who want a sports dog, and those involved in other entertainment activities such as the circus. You should choose the dog carefully to avoid frustration because some dogs are easier to train than others.

6) Teething: It is important to train dogs when they are teething because they are under a lot of pain and they usually chew on furniture such as table legs, shoes, and even wallpaper. Possible training techniques for discouraging the chewing are bad-smelling sprays on items that are at risk and giving the dog chew toys.

7) Command training: It is possible to train dogs to follow commands. These commands include 'sit', 'attack', and 'fetch', among others. This requires patience and there are various techniques of dog training that can be used to achieve this such as giving rewards.

I do not mean to insult anyone but this is true... sorry.

I live in downtown Washington, DC and the City Health Inspectors closed a local Chinese restaurant after they discovered green caterpillars and green worms mixed in the Hunan Chicken entree, during a recent routine inspection.

Chinese food in America, from a good Chinese restaurant, no. From a questionable Chinese eatery, anything is possible.

Chinese food in China (which bears no resemblance to American Chinese food), yes it's possible.
