a) effective or not - 2 choices - binomial
b) smoke or note - 2 choices -binomial
c) answers could be 1,2,3,4,5,6 . . .therefore NOT binomial

a and b are binomially distributed variables and c is not. a and b have only two possible answers each, whether a yes or no, but c has several possible answers ranging from 0, 1, 2, 3,....(well, if the person asked is already a prisoner, I guess we can assume that he did commit at least one crime so 0 wont be a possible answer,....but then again, what if he was innocent but wrongly judged?)
