The advantages are going far away from home and "starting over" in a new place, the disadvantages are the out-of-state tuition and not being able to go home often or when you want to. I personally chose to go to school in-state, not just because it's much cheaper, but because I wanted to be closer to home.

Disadvantages- being far away from home and paying extremely high out of state rates.
Advantages- change of scenery and exposure to new and exciting people.
If you want to travel, this is a pretty good way to get started.

It all depends on what kind of person you are.
You are away from your family
You are responsible for yourself
All new experiances
Meet new people
It is more expensive if you are not a resident of that state if you go to a state school.
