A boy whose mass is 35kg and a girl at 25kg face each other initially at rest on frictionless rollar skates. The boy pushes the girl, who moves away at a speed of 1.5 m/s. Whats the boys speed?

I used the elastic collison equation:
V1f = (35-25/35+25)0 + (2(25)/35+25)1.5
V1i = (50/60)1.5
V1i = (.83)1.5
V1i = 1.25 m/s

An plane of total mass30,000kg needs an acceleration of 1.5m/s square. Find:
-On landing the mass of the plane has decreased to 25,000Kg. why is this? wat decelerating force do the brakes need to provide, given the drag is the same

In our home we do not consider college the ultimate goal or proof that home educating works/doesn't work. IOW, I will not feel like a failure if my children do not choose to go to college. IMHO, life is so much bigger than college. Our children are being raised in a non-materialistic home and we want their happiness to come from being happy within and of themselves, not what people say brings happiness. I truly believe that the American Dream is killing the spirit of the American Family. If my children want to be street sweepers, I hope that they are the happiest street-sweepers out there! Same as if they want to be a doctor or lawyer, I want them to be happy and radiate that happiness and joy to others.

I will only feel like a failure, if my children come out of this experience only to have an attitude and poor outlook on life, as many Americans do today who cannot have the "American Dream" or have it but are still miserable.

I'm interested how others feel about this as well.

This friend and I have recently gone our seperate ways due to difference, nothing to big, just you cannot be honest with her, or she is insulted and takes everything so personally(which we had 3 recent disagreements, the last one ended things for us). So to make a long story short I tried to maintain some contact with her through email and stuff but no response, BUT recently she had decide that life is to short and we should try and start fresh. She agree to be honest and not take things to heart and will try to be upfront as well. We tried this one time before and when I was honset with her BOOM,, that's it she was done with me !! Help should I try again or avoid the whole thing who needs the headache

My son's 4 wheeler leaked gas in our basement. We have indoor/outdoor carpet and have tried cleaning with soap and water. We have also opened all the windows in the basement and the smell of gas is still there. Is there anything else I can do?

Six days ago i posted a please help me this is urgent!!! note here. It was to ask for anyone who read it to please pray for my nephew Jason who was near death in the hospital. I am just writing to say thank you and God bless you to those who prayed for him. He is awake and making a slow but much, much improved recovery. Some of you might say that i should thank the doctors and nurses who cared for him and we have and will. The thing is though they ran a multitude of test and could not find what the problem was in the end when he was near death i wrote asking you all to please pray for him and since then he has steadily recovered! The doctors did nothing special for him like give him a mirracle drug or anything like that they just kept him comfortable. They didnt think he would make it. I am here to say that i believe it was our heart felt prayers to God almighty that brought him through this terrible time. This is why i believe in God.

Here's the deal, I was going out with this girl who is currently deployed to Iraq. I was completely faith to her for almost a year but she never completely trusted me because her ex-husband cheated on her and I guess she figured I'd do the same. Now I had my opportunities but I said no everytime and the next day if my girlfriend called me I'd tell her about it or I'd email her about it not because of fear that someone might tell her but because I loved her and wanted her to trust me. Today was suppose to be our one anniversary, but she's a hypocrite because the whole time that she wasn't trusting me she was cheating on me and now she's a month pregnant. So my question is this, would my body be able to physically withstand the amount of dope I'd have to smoke to even think about taking her back?

I am 18 weeks with my first child at the age of 36. At a recent check up my blood pressure was high. ( I have had some problems with it going up and down in the past but not in the last 4 years). I am worried that it might be the beginning of pre-eclampsia although I have none of the other signs of it e.g no blood in my urine or swelling. I've been advised to have it checked again at my doctor who may prescribe some medication to lower it. The last time he prescribed a beta blocker which an Australian doctor friend told me was 10 years out of date. How can I be sure I am being prescribed the best medication for me and the baby? Has anyone else had experience of high blood pressure during preganacy? Any advice other than watching out for the signs of pre-eclampsia?

( I am of course getting advise from the midwives but find it useful to have input from other women who have been in similar situations).
