In my hometown, we have seen rental housing cost increase by over 250%. Older rundown housing that is totally unsafe to live in, is renting for insane prices. Our older citizens are having trouble paying the higher rents being imposed on them after their lease expires, doubling, even tripling in some cases. Our police force has had to double in size over the past 3 years alone.

I am in college and would like to make a few friends. How do I make friends with males (I am female) without giving them the wrong signals, or appear to come on to them or scare them off completely. It seems even the most hardcore apologists like Kent Hovind (spelling?) accept that micro-evolution takes place. For those that don't know, micro-evolution says that an animal, for example a bird, can grow a bigger beak if the environment favors this trait. So why is it that they can't accept that say a land animal could develop wings and go from one species to a totally different looking one? It seems to logically follow through to me.

P.S. I know this is not a strictly religious question, but since the audience I seek answers from is mainly religious, I believe the topic is best suited here.

I had a falling out with my best friend recently and we havent spoken for a few months. We were like sisters although at times, she did take me for granted and let me down on a number of occassions. Imstuck in a situation now where her brother has just died and i feel the need to go to her. The problem is that my partner is telling me to stay away from her as she and her family have thrown some horrible insults and accusations towards him since the argument which has left him angry. Im torn between going to see my friend just to offer her my condolensces and sticking by what my partner is saying out of love and respect for him. Any one offer any advice??

when i was a young boy growing up in india , a schoolgirl from my class died of a snake bite, and according to islamic customs she was burried within 24 hours. that night she spoke to me in dreams and told me that she was not dead but in a deep coma when burried, and came back to life in the grave. she wanted me to open the grave and see how she had struggled.
The next night i crept out of my home went to her grave with a spade and opened the grave. when i tore the shroud what i saw horrified me. she had not only struggled but even torn her flesh with her fingernails been unable to breathe.
Its almost 30 years since this happened , and i still cant understand why she spoke to me in dreams. I am an athiest and never believed in anything. however i am begining to wonder whether the Buddhist beliefs of transmigration of the soul can be in someway true?

can someone explain it to me?

I currently have a very good job, making over 70 grand a year. I'm looking to buy a house in GA. I have a car and student loan as debts but i'm current on EVERYTHING. My credit score is ok, i'm working on getting it better right now. I know the housing market is cooling off. Is this a good time to be a buyer? And if so, whats the best state to get a nice house for a good price? Preferably the south.

My country India has been fighting the sole battle against terrorists for over 30 years now, we have lost more than a million people in this battle both civilians and soldiers. It is widely known that Pakistan is responsible for this but US still is an ally of Pakistan and is arguing on whether nuclear fuel should be provided to India or not. "For evil to succeed, the only thing necessary is good people to keep quiet." Americans created a huge hullabulla during 9/11 but what happens to us. Terrorists keep bombing our cities,kill our children but still US doesnt support us completely.WHY? Is an Indian life anyway inferior to an American. Well i have decided to help my country in this war , i have signed for Officer in Indian Army. All I ask of u is, plz create an awareness of my country's problems and gather support for us, terrorism can only be defeated thru teamwork. I hope i u will support me and my great nation.

I mean, let's think about this. Even if being gay *was* a choice (as a lesbian who did not choose to like women, I can safely say that it is not, at least not in all the gays I've met), why would that matter?

Even if someone did choose to live their life as a gay person, the "homosexual lifestyle" or whatever, why does that matter? I think the thing that really matters is what gives people the right to tell others that their way of life is wrong?

Even if I had made a choice to love women (a choice that harms no one, not me, not the women I am involved with), why does that give someone the right to deny me societal rights and privileges? Because I had made a choice that they don't like? What if they disagree with what shade I dyed my hair, didn't I just make a choice that they didn't like?

Is anyone following me here?
