In my hometown, we have seen rental housing cost increase by over 250%. Older rundown housing that is totally unsafe to live in, is renting for insane prices. Our older citizens are having trouble paying the higher rents being imposed on them after their lease expires, doubling, even tripling in some cases. Our police force has had to double in size over the past 3 years alone.

Yeah! Much the same here in Essex, England. However, you can get your house windows cleaned for half the price and some of these guys are seriously good mechanics [so long as they understand you and you them]

Yeah...its interesting how property values go down but they sell for more and rent values go up. I'm not an economic junkie and I don't know why this happens, however, I do know that it sucks. I may be lower class but at least I take care of, appreciate, and maintain my property. Have you looked at the properties that belong to illegal AND legal immigrants alike? Its disgusting. I do not want to pay 300 dollars more in rent to live next to that.

Oh, not only that but get this....I work outside of the city but am forced to pay not only my occupational privilege tax but one for the city as well. It is factual that this is being done because there are so many non working illegals and legals (some taking taxpayer dollars through welfare) that the city has to make the money somewhere. Sooo....they double tax the working stiffs to pick up the slack. Nice right?

They are immense.

I just posted this, below:

Los Angeles schools are amongst the worst in the nation, overcrowded and underfunded, with programs cut across the board while most funding targets English language learners due to the lowest test scores being in that area.

I have seen an estimate that 40% of students in LAUSD are now illegal immigrants or the children of illegal immigrants. I don't know if that is true, but clearly there is a huge impact on the schools. This weekend 13 new schools in a district of 63 schools were showcased to help address the problem. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/los_an...

If that money could have gone into cut gifted and highly gifted programs, special education programs for legal residents and into programs such as PE, music and technology that could make a huge difference for our children.

LA County spends $1 Billion a year on benefits for illegal immigrants according to recent testimony at a House hearing, and California spends $10 Billion per year.

Cost aside, the school system my children are in is now one of the worst in the nation when 30 years ago it was one of the best in the nation.

Healthcare is in a similar state.

And the cost of crime and of housing illegal immigrant criminals is also huge: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg...

It effects EVERYONE I know.

They're taking jobs away from American people that the government says we don't want. It makes me mad because my husband spent a lot of time being unemployed because they're taking those jobs from us. This caused lots of problems in our marriage. It's to the point where it's practically over.
One time he was denied work in a poultry factory because of "carpal tunnel syndrome". In the meanwhile this company hired all kinds of illegal immigrants.
Yet I hear on news reports that these people work, send money home to Mexico and the recipients save and build palaces for when these intruders return.
