what is the difference between making generalisations about a gropu of people, be it muslims, catholics, jews or hoodies, young people, prostitutes. If I said Muslims women wear stupid clothes, which they do, I would be racist, apparantly.If I said prostitues wear stupid clothes, which they don't, I wouldn't be racist, but what's the difference? and should we be allowed to have racist views? as long as we don't bully or attack physically anyone for it. And am I a racist for disliking muslims, for their religious beliefs, or is it only colour that constitutes race? Help me out on this, because I get chastised for my dislike of muslims, and I don't think it's fair!

1) saying that it has to be taken in context

2) saying that it has to taken in the context of the time it was written

3) saying "oh, but that's the old testament that doesn't count anymore ......... except of course when it can back up our arguments"

4) being able to randomly choose which bits are to be taken literally and which bits are to be taken as a metephor.... as the need arises.

The same excuses could be used for any document.

My younger sister is emotionally abusing me and physically. She is constantly saying negative things about me, throwing things at me and hitting me. It has got to the point where once she took the telephone and slammed against my head because i wouldn't do what she wanted. My mom sees this all but acts like nothing happens like it is normal. She could be fine for a week but then the next week she is just out of control. Is there a place i could get help and get away and a place where she could get help?

I don't have a problem with religious people, that's their business. But how can a person live their life following a religion and they don't even know if some one just made it all up when they were bored? I think religion just restricts your life. If you believe in individual things like not having sex before marriage, or not drinking alcohol; thats fine why can't you just do that? Why can't you just follow your own morals rather than having to follow someone elses rules?

There's never been any scientific proof that any religion is right or that any religion or god is real, or that following any religion makes you a better person or that following a certain religion sends you to heaven when you die (if you believe in heaven). How can so many people devote their lives to such an unsure thing?

With more then 60 resolutions passed by the united nations it seems as if we completely ignor the U.N. when it suites america .
I am begining to Agree with the world few of america as a terrorist nation it-self .
FOR years we have used economic and financial as well as militeristic terroism against the third world nations to get what we want .
MILITARY bases , land and mineral rights , leases of property all in an effort to plunder the natural resources of other country's .
EXPLOIT the local labor and empower governments to rule the people with force if nessecary.
EXAMPLES-- IRAN --IRAQ we supported the dictators in an effort to gain favorable oil leases and infact had them battle each other in the last 40 years .
CHILE --we negotiated leases to mine large quantities of cooper while workers died by the thousands in mining accidents .
EVERY where america goes it brings nothing to the table but explotation and trouble for the people .
MILLIONS died in vietnam .THE french could not win .

I mean, look at it this way, sperm and an egg meet, they are not human. They become a bunch of cells that "Evolve" into a human. Wouldn't that be the concept of evolution? If this happens in 9 months, who's to say that in a million years one species didn't evolve into something else?
