My younger sister is emotionally abusing me and physically. She is constantly saying negative things about me, throwing things at me and hitting me. It has got to the point where once she took the telephone and slammed against my head because i wouldn't do what she wanted. My mom sees this all but acts like nothing happens like it is normal. She could be fine for a week but then the next week she is just out of control. Is there a place i could get help and get away and a place where she could get help?

as hard as it is to do you need to say to your mother
" I am a kid you are the adult. Now you can either stop her from doing this to me or I will have to tall to my school councilor , priest, ( authority figure) and they will do something about it.
also if you are at least 16 years old. You can leave home in every state in the us at age 16 as long as you stay in the state so ask mom if you need to leave for her to do something and if she refuses get help from the above mentioned and just leave.

It sounds like maybe your mom is frightened of her too. But why she doesn't help is beyond reprehensible! I would call either the police just to get it on record if nothing else and DHS for them to get in there and let it be known your sister is being watched. Maybe that alone may help......Do something now or it may escalate...good luck!!! And don't let her intimidate you..stand up for yourself!!! Make the calls! No one can help you if they don't know whats happening..

Wow, what a brat. If your mom does nothing, then remember this:YOU ARE THE OLDER SIBLING. Take charge of her, defend yourself. Call an abuse hotline, your mother may be responsible for not doing anything.

your mom needs to realize that something is wrong with your little sis. she is at a tough age right now and probably dealing with a lot of stress. talk to your mom and get a professional to help if it gets any worse.

Talk to your parents about this...if this does not help..talk with someone who you feel comfortable with talking about this situation....or go to a YWCA they have a crisis center that can help you.
