Men that wear short black leather shorts and who wear black leather caps are a sub culture in the gay community. Their personal dress preferences do not represent gay men as a whole. The vast majority of gay men dress just like straight men. Do you want proof? Look at a mainstream gay magazine. Look at how the models dress. You will see a few pictures of leather guys sure - maybe even a drag queen or two. But by far most of models will look like they are from GQ or something like that.
Their are straight men that are in to s&m who are in to getting spanked by women. I won't be naive enough to think that they represent straight men as a whole.

Because they are conforming to an existing stereotype that gay men wear short black leather shorts and black leather caps and chains.
It's the same reason that 'most rednecks wear lumberjack shirts and dungarees.' It's a visual shorthand, perpetuated by the media, which has come to define the reality of that group, even if not backed by fact.
Example:
FACT A: Let's say (in the actual, real, world - as an actual, mathematical fact) that no more than 0.000000003% of gay men have ever worn black leather caps and chains.
FACT B: When shown a group of men wearing black leather caps and chains, let's say 87% of people's first reaction is 'ah, they're gay.'
WTF? You might say.
WTF, indeed.
Amazing thing, the media.

I have the same jacket , I like to wear mine with a designed legging and a tight cute dress , and either a fuzzy boot or heels cx . It really looks good that way , give it a try .

Because they like it
why do you wear skirts or jeans or t-shirts or jewlery or who knows what you wear,,,WHY though....because you like it. It has nothing to do with being gay or strait or whatever, strait guys just don't dare to waer it anymore because it's been labled GAY... I think thats dumb though
