Why is it that our government was so adamant, and in such a rush to oust Hussein because they "thought" he had WMD's, but now that they "know" that North Korea is actively pursuing them their attitude is much more docile? And why do I read about all the steps Iran and North Korea have to take to aquire nuclear weapons but I don't recall anything like that before the war in Iraq?
I got this from Wikipedia:
Following the successful overthrow of the Taliban, the U.S. also promoted urgent action in Iraq, stating that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMD), and that in the post 9-11 world it was too dangerous to allow unstable regimes to possess weapons that could "potentially fall into the hands of terrorists."
I would appreciate it if supporters of President Bush would respond. I seem to hear a lot more of the opposite side of Bush's policy on this.
