First of all, I'm very sorry for your family and your brother. It can take days, months, or if he's very very lucky, years. Chemotheraphy could help some, but not much if the cancer is spread throughout his body. It will just make his last days worse. If his doctor has given him a good prognosis (which I doubt :( then go ahead with the chemo. But if he doesn't have long to live, don't put yourself, your family, and most importantly, your brother through it. Pray all you can; God works miracles. Good luck and God bless.

I'm sorry, is he still trying to treat it? There are clinical trials he can sign up with to try new things. It can go into remission or it can take over at this point. Sometimes it will remiss so there isn't really any good time frame to tell you, usually when it is everywhere 30 days is the normal, he'll get lethargic, want to sleep, be maybe in pain, and be listless, then when his body shuts down, he'll start to ramble not making sense, then go into a coma and as more things shut down, he'll just stop breathing or his heart will stop. He needs to have home care like hospice or go to a hospital when it starts getting painful so they can ease his pain and make his journey down a new path more peaceful.

Hugs, to you, I'm so sorry you have to watch his cancer and sorry for both of you for knowing time is limited. I'll keep you in prayer.

I first must tell you that the only thing you need to focus on right now is loving your brother .. Never let it felt by you that you could or should have said that one more I love you ...
Now as for when or how long .. Depsite what you are feeling right now .and where you relationship is with God , He is there for you just call on Him. ONLY GOD knows when your brother's time is up ...
My son was given a terminal diagnosis 5 years ago I was told he would not make it to his 8th birthday , he is now 11 . He is sick still battleing has NEVER been in remission , and fights the good fight everyday!! No herbs, no holistic, just working hard with the doctor and doing my own research...
Pray .. It does help it has seen us through many a tough time ..

I am so sorry.... I just lost my Dad this last week to cancer. He fought for 3 1/2 years before it moved into his brain. I hope your brother gets the treatment he needs and lives for 40 more years. Good luck to you.

It depends on the type of cancer and part of the body involved.Basically the general health and built also determines the survival rate. Good nutrition and support may extend the survival of your brother.

I am so sorry..I am afraid that the best way to find out is to talk with your brother's doctor..if what you are describing is called metastasis which means spreading..so I would gather the family and talk with your brothers doctor so he can fully explain what is going on and how he will be treated..I will pray for your brother and your family..

first off-sorry to hear of your familys misfortune-cancer is a devastating disease.
depending on the type of cancer-depends on his time left here with all of you.

from experiance-i have seen both lung cancer and bone cancer-end a persons time with us within months of diagnosis.

best to be answered by his doctor--then you can prepare yourself-as well as your brother can help prepare you.

spend as much time with him as possible, it will help you in the long run-

pray . prayer works in mysterious ways. god and jesus listens, and could help you find solace, and ease the long suffering by all.

good luck girl-my thoughts are with you and your family.

Sorry to say this, but you said it has already spread everywhere throughout his body. So, then, there it is.
