Intolerance, biggots, politics, all kinds of things are driving people away from the church. And the fact that people are starting to ask questions, and not have blind faith.

To answer why people are leaving the church first we have to answer why people should go to church? Or lets say in other words why people need religion?

In my opinion,
Religion is bestowed to all mankind by Devine through His messengers. No one in the world can make religious rules as man is created by Devine and only He knows what rules should be given to the mankind to be followed.

Since all the mankind has to live in this world for short period of time so we must know how do we have to live in this world before we are called back.

Religion came in the form of a system which tells us the rules and regulations which must be followed in our daily lives.
It teaches us how do we have to live in this world.
It teaches us how to treat with the parents, how the parents should treat the children, how we should treat the neighbours and other mankind, how we should behave with others, how we eat, drink, do business or a job, how to solve our every day affairs with our family and our communities etc.
Not only that how to do banking and how to run a government etc.

If you notice religion is so practical.
Human being is an invention of the Creator.
How this invention ( humans) should work must be known by its Inventor.

Since we can not use a new Micro wave oven properly without a manual or can not drive a car without learning proper driving how can we live our whole life without knowing the purpose of our lives.

We are given the manuals in the form of 4 Devine Books which we hardly try to use as a human manual.

"Once people do not get what they expect their interest is gone"

For example, a jug filled with water is important as there is water inside it. Just the empty jug is of no importance to us. The shape of the jug is not important to us.
In case of religion what are we sticking is the shape of the religion and not understanding and following the contents/ essence of the religion.

Unless we follow the religion by understanding the concepts and philosophy we would not get anything out of it and eventually the interest would be gone.

Unfortunately we are not taught the essence of the religion and we are asked to stick to the shape because if we start to know the essence of the religion it is practical and a full time practice.

And if we bring essence of religion into actions then it will become the hurdle for the politicians and the governments.

Religion does not allow INJUSTICE with any one and if religion is implemented in practical form how personal benefits will be achived by the governments? How blood of innocent would be shed for money.

Religion must be factual and not blind.
Religion have strong philosopy, unless this is well understood everything seems like a usless practice. Leaving the church has come in the same phenomenon.

The "traditional" churches may seem to be in decline, but I think it's more of a change in the "form" of church people are attending now. To be sure, there are plenty of "mega" churches out there, with thousands attending services. Some are also dying from attrition due to age differences and populations shifts. The most interesting change has been a movement towards "home" churches, small gatherings of Christians who come together in their own homes to love and support one another and their community. I read the statistics are something like 9 out of 100 people occasionally attend, and 5 of those participate in home church exclusively.

In the UK only 10% of people who describe themselves as "Christian" attend church. The majority of these are members of the older generation which would suggest that the church has failed to conect with the young.
The fact is that the churches simply aren't the centre of communities any more, I think the entire concept of "community" has degraded to some extent which accelerates the decline.
I also think that American Evangelical groups are causing problems here because noone wants to be associated with them.
Of course if anyone actually knew why the church is going down the pan they would be able to stop it.

Churches in the West are becoming dens of thieves, money changers, sellers of religious trinkets and worldly music. Christ said that you have turned my House of Prayer into a place of merchandise and corruption such as the world has never seen.

Repent! Repent!

If this answer offends any of you devil worshipers, take it up with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Don't mention God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Holy Bible, Church or Christians if you don't want to hear from me.

People are getting tired of the rhetoric and no action to back it up.

People today need help in areas of education, how to seminars for finances, raising families and keeping and nurturing relationships.
All of these things are in the Bible but most Church's want to talk about money, money and then more money.
We all realize, I would hope, that it takes finances to run a church, but we need to be telling people about Jesus and teaching GOD'S WORD, not mans.
But then these are just the thoughts of this Christian Pastor.

Because Islam is such a wonderful place to be. Nothing better than having people telling you how to live. Man has evolved enough that the church is no longer necessary. Why would anyone want to have their life controlled by religion or even governments. Free your mind and figure it out for yourself.

What makes you think they are? Churches seem to be growing for the most part. 9/11 moved lots of folks toward religion, not away from it.

As people start using their brains, they understand that churches are not teaching the truth but the continuation of their rule!

Because Christianity is a joke that should be left to the ignorant sheep of the world and not logical, intelligent individuals.
