When I get married in September, my mother-in-law will live with us b/c she only speaks Spanish and is highly dependant on her only son (my future husband). She has been in the U.S. for like 30 years and refuses to learn English. What do I do when we have kids? I know how grandparents are and don't want her to force her child-raising ways on me.

I'm not thinking of the clitic -'s after nouns, but a true preserved relic of the Old English genitive case.
I would like to suggest that the expression Mondays (of a Monday), Tuesdays (of a Tuesday), afternoons (of an afternoon), is perhaps a true genitive case relic - although it's felt to be plural nowadays. Also, the Dutch cognate of the expression ('s Maandags, 's middags etc.) does infect decline for genitive case.
However, I don't know for sure the origin of the expression. Does anyone out there have any ideas?

[Example sentence: "I usually work afternoons" = to "I usually work of an afternoon" which seems to suggest that "afternoons" is actually declining for genitive case rather than inflecting for plural.]

I'm not doing so great with the idea of not being in my 20's anymore. How did you come to terms with this and what did you do to celebrate your 30th birthday. No one will let me stay 29 and holding haha
Seriously though, this has been a real problem for me and I just keep getting more and more depressed. I guess that I saw myself in a different place in life by the time I was 30 and now its 5 days away and I am so not in that place.

Well the first guy lasted a year and a half. We're even still friends..there was an amazing connection and I really thought that I was inlove with him. This guy is so much more different though, 4 months, and yet I've totally surpassed all those feelings that existed for the other guy. They dont compare. This guy is my life, I'd marry him, have his kids, do absolutely anything for him. I cry over him all the time, not because of fighting so much, but because I love him, cause Im so happy, and sometimes because I hurt his feelings and feel horrible about it..and sometimes because he hurts mine. We are connected so intensely, but does that mean I didnt love the other person and that this is my first time being inlove? Its so different. Can't eat, sleep, think strait. Its crazy.

Me and my fiance made jello-shots with red jello and everclear, she got really sick and threw up in the beige carpet. the vomit was dark red and sat over night.
