Me and my fiance made jello-shots with red jello and everclear, she got really sick and threw up in the beige carpet. the vomit was dark red and sat over night. I have used all sorts of carpet cleaners, but it wont come out all the way. is there anything i can do, or am i just gonna have to keep a rug over it?

For this one, you will need two products. One is called Nature's Miracle available at the pet stores, like PetCo. It contains enzymes that break up the vomit, remove the odor and sanitize without damaging the carpet. But, because the stain is red, you need one of three products all of which are designed to take out the red in stains. Mostenbockers which can be found in the laundry aisle in most big box discounters has a formula for red wine, blood, kool aid, any red stain. You simply spray it on, agitate, blot with a terry towel and continue doing so until the stain disappears. It will turn blue first, so don't freak out. Wine Away, I find at kitchen stores and Cost Plus, works about the same. Or make a paste with Borax and water, scrub into the stain and rinse.

The absolute best stuff out there is called Kids N Pets. I discovered it at my Target after my daughter threw up strawberries all over our beige carpet..... no other carpet cleaner did the job, but this stuff is AMAZING! It is enzyme based, and works better than any of the chemical based cleaners. BTW, it was probably a week after my daughter got sick that I finally got the stain out with this stuff. If you can't find it locally, you can order from Kidsnpets.com

Sorry to say this but red is one of those things that are very hard to get out of any color carpet. Ans the stomach acid just helped set the stain. So I am going to make a suggest of alcohol...put it into a plastic spray bottle and spray the crap out if it. Have a rag handy to rub and see if it's making a dent in the color. Also peroxide might help, but it might change the color of the carpet permanently. So be careful with peroxide. Oxywash might be a better way to go than the peroxide. Hope it helps!

Oxy-clean is good stuff, if that doesn't work I'd go with a throw-rug. No pun intended...
