button beep switched on ? you know that totally pointless function when you are pressing any button on the phone it beeps it is at its most annoying when you are on a train that is used by school kids texting their mates on the way home all you can hear is beep bloody beep ,why is that function even put onto a phone ? it serves no usefull purpose that I can think of and when I get a new mobile after setting the time ,date, etc etc it is the first thing 2 be switched off if you are able my last 2 phones did not allow the function 2 actually be disabled all you can do is turn the volume down to zero so why oh why is it on the telephone in the first place it serves no usefull purpose that I can possibly imagine yes I do have a mobile which is almost permantly switched on to vibrate especially when on a train and one of my other gripes are the people who I am sure set the alarm to sound every 5/10 minutes then procede to shout business speak into the thing at the top of there voices!

My uncle served in the Royal Navy during WW2. He once showed me his discharge papers and they listed his last unit as being HMS Odyssey, however neither Janes nor the web appears to have a reference to this elusive ship/shore establishment. Has anyone heard of this?

I am interested in home day cares, but it scares me that my lil 1 year old will be running around barely walking amongst others who havent mastered the walking skill while a care provider must rush to the restroom. How do they do it? Do most watch tv all day and just igonore the kids?? Or is it cheaper and more attention for the kids?

First, you can't say the Big Bang is not bright enough - there shouldn't be anything brighter than that; second, you can't say it's too far for the light to travel to us - the universe is where light can reach since the Bang, and we're not on the edge of the universe.

I have thousands of the little blighters and I am having trouble keeping up with them, I can't hatch the shrimp fast enough. Any suggestions on another way to feed them, apart from using "small fry liquid suspension"? They only eat the food if it is moving, and with the "small fry:", they don't get that.
Do they have to eat "small fry" or is it absorbed into their body? Please help, any suggestions?

I ran across a recipe from the Netherlands and was surprised to see it used mostly (but not all) English units. Which got me thinking: What does a typical recipe use in a metric country and what utensils do they use? In other words, we use tablespoons, teaspoons, half teaspoons, quarter etc., cups, half cups, etc. What would be in a typical European drawer? A 1 ml spoon? Half ml? 3 ml? A 10 ml cup? How do they measure dry spices? I saw a recipe on here that said 3g of this spice, 4g of that. Do they have tiny scales accurate to a gram?
