This is a very good question and sounds like something I would have asked if I had thought of it.They are making them now with a light in there, but technology is more advanced and I guess they have just come up with bulbs that can survive the freezing cold.I would think an ordinary bulb might bust when the heat and cold mix.Like putting a glass right out of the freezer into hot water.

Your freezer is meant to be full. It operates more efficiently when it is completely stuffed. In this situation a light would be useless, as well as adding heat to the freezer.

because you're more likely to get a midnight snack out of the fridge because most things in the freezer need to be thawed or heated.

fridge is bigger and you need a light to see the contents in it while a freezer is smaller and the lightbulb would freeze if put inside

Some freezers have it. Mostly in top-of-the-line ones like Viking.
