I am interested in home day cares, but it scares me that my lil 1 year old will be running around barely walking amongst others who havent mastered the walking skill while a care provider must rush to the restroom. How do they do it? Do most watch tv all day and just igonore the kids?? Or is it cheaper and more attention for the kids?

Make sure that children's area is "childproof" and seperated from the main part of the house by a door or childgate.
They will probably use a playpen or crib to place infants in when they have to leave the room. You can request that. The kids watch TV. You should not leave your baby at a home where the care provider watches tv during operating hours.

If you have more than like 4 or 5 kids you have to be state certified and have help. How long do you plan on being in the restroom? 30 seconds I think the children will be ok, put them in a swing, a playpen, or something like that, use the restroom and come back real quick.

When you got to go you got to go. I would think most kids watch TV but not all day long. Home care can be good if the care giver is attentive and caring. Cheaper probably not.

Very good!!!
Always ask lots of questions before you leave your defenseless kid anywhere. I was a daycare provider and was always shocked when parents just handed over the baby and left. If it was me I'd have hundreds of questions!
My advise is to ask the daycare provider what she does. She shouldn't be offended.
I would wait until the kids were sleeping, babies need lots of naps, and after awhile you get into a routine.

Well I think it's technically illegal for just one adult to be watching more than 5 or 6 kids, for that very reason, so a good daycare will have a good adult to kid ratio. (1 adult for every 5 kids or so)

An open door policy comes to mind. safety gates. they will cry but as long as there crying for you there OK. Turn the t.v off and stay involved.
