Do women who wear hijab in hot climates suffer from overheating? The cloth needs to be covering, loose, and thick enough as to not be able to see the body shape. What about summertime in Africa or the Middle East? Or California? Or Mexico? These places are so hot, and people who don't wear the hijab sometimes suffer from heat stroke. If the hijab is to cover everything except for what is necessary, wouldn't it be necessary to uncover the neck at least? Couldn't women wear a big hat instead?
I'm not Muslim, but I do respect this beautiful religion very much. I have five hijabs, and have tried them on indoors. I had to remove them after 1/2 hour, they felt too hot. Is discomfort required when wearing a hijab?
Also, if a society doesn't see the hair and neck as a sexual lure, if the hair is in a topknot and the neck is exposed but not down to the bosom, in this case wouldn't it be all right to leave the head uncovered?
I ask with respect, please know this.
