Does it seem likes it more imporant to participate in the sort of mindless groupthink we call "policitcal correctness" than it is to work things out logically in your own mind? Has the concept of truth gone by the wayside as a result of this? Do you ever feel like you're in the twilight zone or some Orwellian nightmare?

Ok...I work in a 9-1-1 center. I am constantly being yelled at by callers because they think I am not sending them help. For instance this morning, I picked up the phone to a screaming woman who's husband was having trouble breathing. I was trying to find out information on him, when he quit breathing. But every question I asked, was answered by my caller "JUST GET ME SOME DAMN HELP!" What does the public think? Do they think I am just asking these questions cause I am bored and want to carry on a conversation? Maybe I was asking these questions so I could HELP her to help him. The whole time my partner was getting the help on the way. My caller refused to do CPR on husband even though I was trying to tell her how. It only took 5 minutes from the time she picked up the phone to the time a fireman was doing CPR on her husband. But somehow about 75% percent of callers think we are not sending them help until we hang up the phone. Why is that?

I feel really unhappy in my marriage, my husband is hard to talk to, and sometimes i get frustrated and lose my temper(i try but it is hard no to shout sometimes), i always feel i come second best, and that he never considers my feelings. He only goes to the pub once a week, but he has started to stay later and later,he also goes on lads weekends away twice a year, he really gets angry with me if i question him. He is never keen to do anything with me though. He is not Christian, so he doesnt share my views on porn, etc(which he is also fond of). I always thought my Husband would be my best friend, and would really care for my feelings- but he usually tells me i am over reacting and smirks at me or just says i am pathetic when i try and talk to him. Our love life is ok, but i want to be more to him than that. I am fed up of feeling lonely. I dont want to divorce, but i already feel like a single parent sometimes! I know it will never be perfect, but cant it be more than this?

Now i have problem about social. I dont know , it is uncomfortable when i be with people. i am learning to be friend with people at my office but finally i will go back to my silence world. Sometime i may hurt people feeling when they want to be good friend to me.ex i left 3 friends when we were in shopping mall becos i feel they can enjoy together. i think they feel disappoint when i say goodbye. Later i think ,i should not do it. I know my problem came from i was alone too much when i was a girl.

ships. After dinner he let out a loud belch after the ship had sounded its horn. He (laughingly) said it was a double welcome for us passengers. Was it a joke or rudeness? what should we have done? we were simply shocked and couldn't reply.

you've been together for so very very long under the same roof, but unhappy and neither of you can afford to live on your own and yet there's no real "love" -- and also even if you could afford to leave that there is a fear that you might end up being alone and dying alone so that is the reason you don't leave?
