When someone does or says something that others do not approve of why is it as a society we feel it is the right thing to do by judging them or saying really rotten things to them

Generally, it's to make themselves feel better. They have a lack of confidence in themselves and so they strike out at others.

Because those people have low self esteem so they feel better about themselves by saying things to put others down.
