United States - December 2007

So I'm leaving in 2 days and staying at the property; I just realized (to my dismay) that they are building CityCenter right next door. My question is, how can I minimize the noise, in terms of which floor/side to stay on? Also, would bringing earplugs be a good idea?

Or am I being too melodramatic?

Traffic, Construction, Houston.

The plan is to for both cars to leave New Orleans with a full tank of gas at 8 a.m. - I don't know how bad traffic is on I-10 around Lafayette and Houston (assuming I get to houston around noonish). I would like to obey all speed limits and laws.

I was there for a few days for a wedding. And sad to say it, Michigan's economy is not improving. I grew up in Michigan and I love Michigan. And I dont mind relocating back there, but the economy is depressing. I have lived in New York for about 7 Years, and for the first time I came back it was more hopeless than before. Why is that?

im kinda interested in moving to bigbear area in CA.
my family wants to be able to enjoy our own white christmas's without traveling, at first we picked julian. but it doesnt snow much, i have a few questions.

what would you choose, and why? -julian or bigbear.
which has more snow, im guessing bigbear.
how much is there to do there? will a kid get bored, how many people, how is the usual weather and snow reports, yearround weather, and if you live there can you PLEASE tell me what its like.

My husband is from the detroit area and wants to go back to settle and have and raise our kids there. He absolutely loves Detroit and tells me it will be great and safe, but all I ever hear about it and the surrounding areas is bad. (Muder, Theft, Rape, ect.) Is it truely possible to be safe and happy there and in the future raise a family there?
