The sand is fine-grained, white, and feels good. California has harsher sand, bigger grains and rougher. As far as the "eye fodder", though, it's a toss-up between CA and FL girls. :D

The beaches of Florida are a white colored on the Gul side of the statre. The Emerald Green waters make for the most beautiful beaches in the worls.Toward south Florida the beachs are eaquaily as beautiful withe a little different color to them, mainly by the shells that was up on shore.
Then the East coast has some very nice beaches that are somewhat darker that the west coast but still are smooth sand and no rocks as found in alot of east coast beaches.
Will take Florida over any other beach now(Been To Florida,Mississippi,Texas,California,North Carolina,Virginia,as well as Carribbean)

I've only been to Daytona and two others in Florida. Gulfside beaches are not so good, too much dirt in the water. I like California beaches better than Florida overall, though Daytona is nice. You have to at least go to Laguna Beach before you make a judgment call on Florida having the best beaches. Laguna is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been!

Florida beaches are recipients of coral silica. All the Gulf coast beaches are recipients of coral silica but the prevailing winds groom the sugar sands of Florida just the right way.

The live bottom just off shore provides just the right amount of interesting shells and just a bit of a crunchy mix of tiny coquina shells.

The most interesting beach in Florida for me is Blowing Rocks in Martin County on the East Coast, north of Palm Beach. East coast sand is not sugar like the West Coast but it is nice.
