Travelling to New Jersey / New York City for 7 days. My hotel is in Elizabeth, NJ by the Newark Airport. I was wondering how hard it was to commute from New York City back to New Jersey. What is the easiest way? What are the options for commute? Also, should I be concerned about safety here? Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

One of my friend is going to New-York from April 15th to end of May. She would like to rent a room or share an appartement in the following areas: Williamsburg, Bushwick, Soho, Nolita, Chinatown, Murray Hill, Gramercy or Lower East Side.

We have to search on the internet since we live in Montreal. We already looked on Craig's List. Do you have any other suggestion of websites?

Thanks a lot!

We are planning a trip to NY mid May. We will be 3 of us along with 2 sets of parents. No children. We are planning to stay in New jersey but are not sure of the areas we should keep in mind and the areas we shouldnt venture into. And also we are going to be there for 3 nights and 2 days. I was wondering if anyone might have any idea of how to make the most out of NY in that time. We are not planning for any broadway shows... What about Chinatown? any suggestions in that places....

I have lived in fairly small mid-west cities my whole life. I will soon be going to new york city for the first time and really don't know how the whole bus and subway thing works. I can find rules, routes and schedules online. I need some real life suggetions on what to do and what is a really bad idea to do when traveling around.

Preferably in the following areas of Brooklyn: Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Flatbush or on Manhattan's Lower East Side. If you know of a good one in another area you can suggest that as well. Also, why do you like that salon and which stylist should I ask for. Thanks!

So I will be having a car to go around the city but I've heard it's impossible to drive thru the city because of the traffic. I've never been there so I want to know from you how hard is to drive around? what are the good places to go to? how much money should I take w me? what tours should I take? Any information you can give me would be great. Thanks!

OKAY;
here is the deal. I am thinking of taking a red-eye (17 hours) from Bangkok to NYC and instead of getting right on another plane to Minneapolis, where I'll be taking my daughter to get settled for college, we're thinking of spending a day and a night in NYC...or maybe just the day....anyhow, we will be on a limited budget, so here's my questions:
1. What would YOU see/do?
2.What do I need to expect to spend?
3.Any places to stay away from?

The flight, as far as I know, will come in to JFK.
Give me some fun ideas...my daughter has never seen the big apple...and it's been a long time for me.

Thanks..have fun dreaming for me.

Why do men when sitting next to you spead their legs as wide as possible and take up your space and also put their arms out so they go into you. I feel like i cant move and have no space, some women do this as well, why do they do this and how can i prevent this from happening again? I put my arms out and this guy put his elbow on mine and wouldnt move , then he gave me a nasty look and would not get his elbow off of mine.. it was gross.
