I subscribe to TimeOut New York. The magazine gives more information than the website.

The best thing to do is go to Barnes and Nobles travel section and buy a book on NYC, it is filled with colorful illustrations of museums, hip restaurants, Broadway plays, parks, coupons, special events, maps, reviews, store hours, show times too much to name. Have fun.
