I want to go to Wicked and Spamalot. These are both very popular shows. I can reserve tickets now for around 150. But I hear about getting great deals on tickets at Times Square the day of the show.

I probably should just buy them... Less hassle.

Any Advice or Tips?

We're driving to New York, staying in Elizabeth, NJ by Jersey Gardens. I'm looking into the cheapest route to the city. We're a mile from the Newark Airport train that would take us to the city but that would cost us $50 round trip for the three of us! Plus the cost of subways once we're in the city.

So I'm thinking since we have a vehicle with us it might be better to drive into the city or another location outside that has a cheaper route in. One route plan I found was to take the bridge over to Staten Island ($6) then park at the ferry terminal ($5.50/day) and then take the free (and scenic) ferry into Manhattan. That plan only costs us $11.50. I would like to do this route at least once for the view but not sure I want the 25 minute ride over with a 1 yr old and 4 yr old each day we go over there. We'll probably go over 4 days.

Where can I park in the city for free or inexpensivly? Any locations would be useful. Near subsways would be best. Any other entry points you suggest?

Hi, I'm moving to NYC within the next year to persue a career in acting (before you all jump on me - I know it'll be hard, and I'll have to take tons of temp jobs and crappy jobs I would never take under any other circumstance, but it's what I need to do!)

anyway, I want to be able to have easy access to auditions and also if there were restaurants around that I could work at it would be nice. I am also planning on starting Graduate work at NYU tisch for performance studies after I get settled in.

Where would be the best place for me to live? Manhattan is really expensive I've heard, but it would be really convenient, right, what about Brooklynn or the Bronx?

I live in PA and am going to see a Yankee game but I don't want to drive into NY. I will drive to NJ and park my car but I don't know where to park my car and then board a bus or train that will get me close to the baseball park. I need exact locations/directions since I am not familiar with the area.

would you write New York, NY, or would you use the name of the borough you were born in.

My dad and I were both born in the Bronx, although I never lived there.

I always list my place of birth as New York, NY and my dad always writes Bronx, NY. He says that only people born in Manhattan should write New York, NY. At first I thought that he was associating the mailing address with place of birth, but he says it's not that. He says people who grow up in NYC wouldn't list their birthplace as New York, NY unless they were born in Manhattan.

Maybe it's a matter of hometown pride for him?

So, what do others born in NYC do?
