I was talking to a woman who worked in a boutique and we were talking about New York City and the diversity of people and cultures and she mentioned that she had relatives in New Jersey. I said, "Oh that's neat! Is the land expensive there?" She responded, "I don't actually know, my aunt and uncle live there...to tell you the truth it's really like the dumps!"

And she's not the only person I've heard this from! Even in movies "Jersey" is referred to as "less than" or "ghetto" especially when compared to "the city" (NYC). Do people who actually live in Jersey share this same opinion? And if so why? And if not, why? I'd like to hear your thoughts...

i am 21 and a recent college graduate. i am from pittsburgh, pa. i want to go back to school while i am in the mood to get 1 more degree - in accounting. i was looking at schools in nyc and i am thinking long island university or baruch college. the main reason i am thinking nyc is because i want to move there and i figured it would be easier while in school because i could live on campus. anyway, i need some advice about that - i am 21 and will be 22 in october - is that too old to live on campus at that age? when i went to school in pittsburgh, i commuted so i don't know much about dorm life. anyway, i just need advice in general!!

I'm planning on visiting in October and I've noticed that hotel prices are lower if I were to visit in July. Is it that summer is a slow time or do rates of rooms go down as the time gets closer?

We will be on our first "shore" trip to New Jersey with the rest of my husband's family. I am just a Kansas girl and have no idea how to get around. We want to visit the New York City area for a day and want to know the best way to go without taking in a car. We will be in Sea Isle NJ. Want to drive in as close, but park and take another mode in. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!
